A journey of a thousand miles

Wednesday 2 March 2011

Moon Aquarius
Sun Pisces

What is at rest is easily managed. What is not yet manifest is easy to prevent. The brittle is easily shattered; the small is easily scattered.

Act before things exist; manage them before there is disorder. Remember: A tree that fills a man’s embrace grows from a seedling. A tower nine stories high starts with one brick. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Act and destroy it; grasp it and lose it. The sage does not act, and so is not defeated. He does not grasp and therefore does not lose. People usually fail when they are on the verge of success. So give as much care at the end as at the beginning, then there will be no failure.

The sage does not treasure what is difficult to attain. He does not collect precious things; he learns not to hold on to ideas. He helps the 10,000 things find their own nature but does not venture to lead them by the nose.

A number nine day focuses our attention outward toward humanity. The world is your family. No beginnings today. Close a chapter. Release things that are not working for you – ideas, habits, relationships. Be an artist. Use your creative talents. Close the chapter, tomorrow you will start anew.

The Moon in Aquarius is the perfect cosmic support for this number nine day. Just be happy to float along with the sea of faces – be a part of the crowd. Venus joins the Moon in this love-in and it is time to let love in – love one another and connect to the joy of the world.

Harlequin's Haven March 2011

Greetings Celestial Cousins!

The third month of the year is now rolling in. In Australia we are now officially in autumn. Yes summer is over and we must now prepare for cooler days. I wonder if anyone has shared this news with the weather. I understand that Sydney is in for some scorching heat before the weather and the calendar catch up with one another.

March is Sun in Pisces time. Pisceans are represented by the two fish swimming in opposite directions. Pisces people are very sensitive or “psychic” although the quality often manifests itself in a passive way the fish depending upon dreams, intuition and instant impressions in her/his daily personal life. The drive and forcefulness creates mystics who are also great leaders is sometimes lacking, Pisces preferring to spread their light quietly, behind the scenes.

The New Moon on March 5 at 6:45 am, 14 degrees Pisces is a time to reconnect with your sense of the divine. Pisces is one of the more spiritual sings, and with a total of five planets in Pisces under this New Moon there’s never been a better time to devote yourself to something you truly believe in. Sandwiched between energetic Mars and curious mercury this New Moon brings the chance to channel ideas into actions. A potent link between Jupiter and Pluto shows power is there for those who dare to make the first move.

Here are some Piscean seeds to consider when planting your New Moon wishes:

• Imagination
• Inner happiness
• Psychic sensitivity
• Trust/mystic awareness
• Spiritual healing
• Compassion
• Releasing helplessness
• Bliss
• Ecstasy
• Universal love
• Confusion
• Sleep
• Fantasy
• Gentleness
• Surrender

March 20 the Full Moon 29 degrees Virgo are at 4:10am which turns our focus toward the “little details” in life. Details matter more than ever and taking care of matters with precision pays dividends long into the future. After a month of exploring spirituality and intuitive realms, this Virgo Full Moon helps to ground you and encourages you to focus on day-to-day life. Unconventional Uranus has now re-entered Aries, where he’ll spend the next seven years. A new area of life is ready to evolve.

March is a number three month and this is a month when burdens ease. It provides an opportunity to fall in love or have an affair – but above all be careful that the fun does not cost you for years to come.

The nine of swords is the next step in our tarot journey. On a divinatory level, the Nine of Swords heralds a period of great anxiety and foreboding about the future. It is important to examine where guilt about the past might lie behind such fears, rather than being enslaved by them to one’s future detriment.

Our animal totem for March is turtle. In Native American teachings, Turtle is the oldest symbol for planet Earth. It is the personification of goddess energy, and the eternal Mother from which our lives evolve. We are born of the womb of Earth, we are asked by Turtle to be mindful of the cycle of give and take, to give back to the Mother as she ha given to us.

For March 2011, keep in mind that Turtle buries its thoughts, like its eggs, in the sand, and allows the sun to hatch the little ones. This teaches you to develop your ideas before bringing them out in the light. Look at the old fable of the tortoise and the hare, and decide for yourself whether or not you would like to align with the turtle. Bigger, stronger, faster are not always the best ways to get to a goal. When you arrive, you may be asked where you’ve been and you may not be able to remember. In that case, arriving prematurely can make you feel very immature.

Pele the volcano Goddess of the Polynesian peoples of Hawaii; according to legend she appears to people as a beautiful and mysterious young woman just before her volcano is about to erupt or as a gnarled old woman who lights her cigarette with the snap of her fingers.

Pele represents, “awakening”. She asks us, if we have been sitting still for too long? Have we been lulled into sleep by the evenness of our life? Has reality been so slippery to grasp? Get ready to awaken your awareness and come into full consciousness. Now is the time to see things as they really are, to initiative change so things can be as you want them to be. Pele says that when you nurture your awakening you life becomes creative rather than reactive – an infinitely more powerful place to be!

Our crystal for March is Lepidolite. I have chosen this one specifically for the Piscean birthday people. Lepidolite aligns perfectly with Pisces as it is associated with difficulties being in the physical body. This stone also assists in shamanic or spiritual journeying and accesses the Akashic Record. It tunes you into thoughts and feelings from other lives that are creating a blockage in your own life now. It can also take you forward into the future. And when it does, I hope that it is a brilliant and magical future.

Love, Peace and Harmony – always,

Harles!

Anywhere from here

1 March 2011
Sun Pisces
Moon Aquarius

I see simplicity in the complicated. I do great things while they are small. I can get anywhere from here.

Practice non action. Work without doing. Taste the tasteless. Magnify the small, increate the few. Reward bitterness with care. See simplicity in the complicated. Achieve greatness in little things.

Take on difficulties while they are still easy; do great things while they are still small. The sage does not attempt anything very big, and thus achieves greatness.

If you agree too easily, you will be little trusted; because the sage always confront difficulties, he never experiences them.

This is a fantastic verse for me to remember. Often I rush in to accomplish tasks or offer my enthusiasm too quickly. I have learned that this is not necessary – rather it is a waste of my energy and I feel deflated or over-burdened. Now I am more cautious and considered. Now I can venture to anywhere from here.

A number eight day stirs the ambition within us. Do financial or legal work. Go to the gym or have a health check up. Help someone less fortunate. Success is already yours now!

The Moon in Aquarius takes us into the third month of 2011. It opens our eyes and minds to the concept of humanity. Aquarius rules the 11th house of friendship, connections and has a Uranian influence. So networking with a purpose is a high priority.

Uranian modalities of communication throb through our life. We are connected to the internet – computerisation and social networking. For all of the bad press that the Uranian influences attract I would not like to consider my modern existence without them.

I am off to publish my columns for March – see you in cyber-land.

Love, Peace and Happyness,

I am a Divine Creation

Monday 28 Feb. 2011

Sun Pisces
Moon Capricorn

I am a Divine creation of the Tao, as are all others. I cast out no-one. Rather, I cast out wickedness by elevating others with my deeds.

The Tao is the treasure-house, the true nature, the secret source of everything. It is the treasure of the good man and the refuge of the bad.

If a person seems wicked, do not cast him away. Awaken him with your words, elevate him with your deeds, repay his injury with your kindness. Do not cast him away; cast away his wickedness.

Thus when a new leader is chosen, do not offer to help him with your wealth of expertise. Help him meditate on the principle; offer instead to teach him about the Tao.

Why did the ancients make so much of the principle? It is not because it is the Source of all good, and the remedy for evil? It is the noblest thing in the world.

Take a journey within to seek out your unique source of nobility with the assistance of the number seven day. A number seven personal day requests that we put our faith in the Universe – go within and touch your inner wisdom. Study something spiritual or scientific. The number seven always reveals something. Meditate. Be open.

The Capricorn Moon takes the lead with our future direction. Offer strategic solutions to issues borne out of the recent Moon-v-Pluto power struggle. Don’t try to control the outcome instead see this time of unrest as a time of growth. Capricorn qualities facilitate hard work and ambitions planted in the till of the soil. Be responsible for your actions and progress. Be respectful and committed to your purpose. And most of all be noble in your search for the truth – you are a Divine Creation.

Love, Peace and Happyness,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

In friendship and trust

Sunday 27 Feb. 2011
Sun Pisces
Moon Capricorn

My loved ones and I will not be impacted by the presence of evil anywhere in the world. By staying calm and under the radar others will ultimately join me in friendship and trust.

The 61st verse reminds us that:

A great country is like lowland, toward which all streams flow. It is the reservoir of all under heaven, the feminine of the world. The female overcomes the mail with stillness, by lowering herself through her quietness.

So if a great country lowers itself before a small one, it wins friendship and trust. And if a small country can lower itself before a great one, it will win over that “great” country. The one wins by stooping; the other, by remaining low.

A number six day is a day of adjustment. The chaotic energy of the five day must be stabilised and brought into alignment. Look at the areas of disruption from yesterday and consider the signals. What do you need to let go of and what do you need to integrate into your new direction?

The Moon in Capricorn is the opposite end of the spectrum to the emotional Piscean Sun. Capricorn is steady and methodical – organised and determined. I know it is Sunday but take time to look at your life systematically and meticulously. Unravel the twisted knots that have been playing havoc with your equilibrium – the Capricorn Moon will assist you with this tedious and yet necessary process. Why? Because you’re worth it!

Love, Peace and Happyness,

All the benefits of life

Saturday 26 Feb. 11

Sun in Pisces
Moon in Sagittarius

When I refrain from thoughts of harm directed toward others, I accumulate all the benefits of life.

Governing a large country is like frying a small fish. You spoil it with too much poking.

Approach the universe with the Tao and evil will have no power. Not that every is not powerful, but its power will not be used to harm others. Not only will it not do harm to others, but the sage himself will also be protected.

If only the ruler and his people would refrain from harming each other, all the benefits of life would accumulate in the kingdom.

Do something different is the mantra of the number five day. Be flexible. Change your routine, promote and advertise yourself and your products. Shout out loud, “I welcome change and rejoice in the new!”

Speaking of rejoicing is it my imagination or is this Sagittarian Moon phase going on forever? The Moon in gregarious and philosophical Sadge is heart warming but there are limits! This influence is a positive reminder to get out there and connect with your ninth house of higher learning and long distance travel. I’ve been drooling over my trip to UK and Europe – what about you?

Ciao – I’ve off to study Italian for Aussie tourists – I think I will need some help or at least a positive arrow from our favourite Centurion.

Love, Peace and Happyness,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Living without limits

Friday
25 Feb. 2011
Sagittarius Moon
Pisces Sun

I practice living without limits by gathering virtue and modelling it.

In governing people and serving nature, nothing surpasses thrift and moderation.

Restraint begins with giving up one’s own ideas. This depends on virtue gathered in the past. If there is a good store of virtue, then nothing is impossible. If nothing is impossible, then there are no limits. If a man knows no limits, he is fit to lead.

This is the way to be deeply rooted and firmly planted in the Tao, the secret of long life and lasting vision.

I guess this verse of the Tao Te Ching suggests that we should live long and prosper? But make sure you gain a little virtue along the way!

The Moon in Sagittarius shares a common ruler with her Sun counterpart. Sagittarius and Pisces (Sun) share Jupiter as a mutual ruler and great benefactor. This is a time to ask yourself – do you feel lucky? If so go for broke on the communication (nice placement with Mercury moving into spiritual advocate, Pisces) and Chiron in a comfy position for some healing.

This is a comfy cosmic couch to sit and reflect or share some secrets or even let go of past hurts/pain/issues. Just let it all out and move on!

The numerological influence for the day is a stead fast number four. It is time to get organised and the work you do today will be long lasting. Number four days are excellent to engage in a structure approach to your path. It is also a good day to have a health check up and get ready for tomorrow.

A perfect affirmation is: I am organised and productive!”

Get ready; get going and have a fabulous day!

Love, Peace and Happyness,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Good fortune awaits

Thursday
24 Feb. 2011

Moon Sagittarius
Sun Pisces

The 58th verse of the Tao Te Ching reminds us:

When the ruler knows his own heart, the people are simple and pure. When he meddles with their lives, they become restless and disturbed.

Bad fortune is what good fortune leans on; good fortune is what bad fortune hides in. Who knows the ultimate end of this process? Is there no norm of right? Yet what is normal soon becomes abnormal; people’s confusion is indeed long-standing.

Thus the master is content to serve as an example and not to impose his will. He is pointed but does not pierce; he straightens but does not disrupt; he illuminates but does not dazzle.

So here we have it: Bad fortune has good fortune hiding within it, and good fortune is what bad fortune hides in.

It is important to see the positive (good fortune) in any lesson or gift (aka an offering from another person in the way of honesty, respect/disrespect, ignorance or arrogance). I have to admit though sometimes these “gifts” can be uncomfortable or painful. When this happens I like to respond and say, “thank you for sharing.”

The Sagittarius Moon offers a philosophical approach to our curriculum – it is all about the learning. The learning pathway may be littered with rocks and cactus but if we can wipe off the mud we may see an exquisite gem. Or if we look at the cactus a perfect flower may be lurking on the other side of the spikes.

Sagittarians are renowned for their honesty and forthrightness. They teach us about acceptance and then striving toward a new goal/ideal. When the Moon visits this fiery Centaur it’s easy to shrug off the darkness of human emotions and motives.

A number three day does not give us the opportunity to dwell for too long in the mud and the muck. For it is a day to love everybody. Express the joy of living in the now. Look beautiful. Feel handsome. Experience the joy that is in you and radiate it all around you.

Consider this affirmation for today: “I radiate joy and share it with others!”

Love, Peace and Happyness,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

I do not live by anyone else’s rules

Wednesday 23 Feb. 2011
Moon Scorpio/Sagittarius
Sun Pisces

I work at allowing all others to trust in their highest nature rather than imposing my rules and regulations on them. Moreover, I am free to be myself. I don’t have to live by anyone else’s rules.

An 11/3 Master number day is a day to follow your star. Leave commercialism behind you. The vibrations today are uniquely tuned and very spiritual. There is a lot of healing potential around today. Seek the support of Archangel Gabriel to guide you toward your highest potential.

The Moon and Sun are still holding hands in their watery haven of Scorpio and Pisces. Later in the day the Moon will move into a philosophical Sagittarius Moon phase. This will take us from the depths of transformation to the platform of higher discovery and acceptance.

Whatever has been happening in your life, and no matter how painful the lessons have been there is a healing resolution heading this way. I’d like to offer that there is a celestial soul elixir waiting t the edge of the bureau – all we need to do is to reach for the jar, lift it to our lips and drink it!

Love, Peace and Happyness,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

The Highest State of Man

22 Feb. 2011

Moon Scorpio
Sun Pisces

Those who know do not talk. Those who talk do not know. The less I care about the approval of others, the more approval I receive. This, therefore is the highest state of man.

The 56th verse of the Tao Te Ching is challenging for us mere mortals. The fragility of our emotional realm is impacted on the approval of others. It is difficult for us to operate outside the group. Some people like to step out and shine in their own light. From my perspective, they are courageous. They test and scale their boundaries, making a statement in their own right. In this bold move they connect with their highest self and demonstrate their unique self.

Bold moves with passionate embrace are on the cosmic menu with the Scorpio Moon. Scorpio and Pisces are compatible mates and create a Neptunian haze with touch of spice on this Tuesday. Make the most of this celestial rendezvous.

Dress for success with red and rubies in this new numerological phase. It’s time to design – begin anew. Be independent. Do what you want to do. Go after things. Go to new places. Meet new people. Try out new ideas.

Okay people – keep it safe out there – and by the way – have some fun!

Love, Peace and Happyness,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

I release the need to control anyone’s life

I attract the cooperative power of the Tao when I release the need to control anyone’s life, including my own.

A number nine day focuses our attention on humanity. All the world is our family. Be a humanitarian. Help everyone you can. Give something away. The colours for today are all pastels. And the jewels are opal and gold.

The Sun is in Pisces which shines a light on our spirituality. The Moon in Libra sets the scene for a balanced review of our life. Librans are expert at cutting through the crap to find the truth.

Saturn is in Libra at the moment and this means we are all touched by his frosty presence. He insists that we take responsibility for our actions. Libra is his hometown until 2013 and during this uncomfortable residency it is not the time to stray or step outside the bounds of respectability. There is no place to hide in the interrogation room of Chronos.

Stay cool and keep your head held high.

Love, Peace and Happyness,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Sunday in Sydney

It’s hot and humid here in the city. I’m afraid that my body and mind are not use to this extreme heat.

Yesterday was fabulous with a trip to see my Grandsons but this morning the heat it is playing havoc with my fatigue. I feel as if I’ve been out on the town and yet this could not be further from the truth.

Today we will return to Canberra for a more dignified climate.

The trip has been good. My fourth house of home, mother and family has been regenerated. I feel sated in the knowledge that I’ve reconnected and strengthened the familial bonds. It’s difficult to walk away from the centre of your source but also necessary at times.

The next few hours will be breakfast, coffee, packing and travelling. Then the weekly grocery shopping, unpacking the car, washing and preparing for the week. At least I will have the stable energy of the eight day to support me on the business end of the day.

The Moon in Libra is focused on balance so there will be some rest time too. Later tonight a spa to soak the weary muscles is high on the agenda.

How about a major arcana reading this morning?

The Hanged Man – Prometheus usually elicits a sigh and an eye roll. Why do I have to sacrifice anything to have what I want?

The key to this major arcana card is that the sacrifice is “voluntary”. In that case, you choose to relinquish something to achieve a great purpose or to align to your next phase of your journey. The question is, what are you prepared to give up?

Justice is the icon of the higher mind. Don’t wallow in the dark emotional realm – it is far too nasty. Instead consider strategies that will elevate you to the next exciting chapter. Maintain the connection to your cognitive solutions – more importantly tighten the grip on the strands to your rational mind.

The Fool augurs the beginning. You’ve been through the worst of your current curriculum or current life lessons. Now it is time to start again – fresh as a daisy and ready to push forward on a new path.

Don’t underestimate the potency of lessons learned – take them with you in your knapsack they are the rewards for your deep commitment to your evolution.

Love, Peace and Happyness,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

I see myself in all others

If I have even a little sense, I walk in the Great Way and my only fear is straying. I live honourably. I see myself in all others.

If I have even a little sense, I should walk in the Great Way and my only fear would be straying.

The Great Way is very smooth and straight, and yet the people prefer devious paths. That is why the court is corrupt, the fields lie in waste, and the granaries are empty.

Dressing magnificently, wearing a sharp sword, stuff oneself with food and drink, amassing wealth to the extent of not knowing what to do with it, is being like a robber.

I say this pomp at the expense of others is like the boasting thieves after looting. This is not the Tao.

There is a magical link between the Sun and Neptune today. I see this alignment as a special gift from the cosmos. Well, don’t we deserve it after such a challenging week so far? This vibration will take us into the Full Moon where we will be asked to release the unwanted burdens of regret and fling off the burdens of our daily fears.

A number five day encourages change and surprise. Look your best. Really dress up. Get out and look for the new. Positive change is in the air. The colour blue is a beacon of inspiration and aquamarine a jewel to consider.

An appropriate affirmation is: “I welcome change and rejoice in the new!”

Whatever path you choose to walk I wish you golden and cosmic blessings with every step.

Love, Peace and Harmony,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

The practice of eternal light

All under heaven have a common beginning. This beginning is the Mother of the world. Having known the Mother, we may proceed to know her children. Having known the children, we should go back and hold on to the Mother.

Keep your mouth shut, guard the senses, and life is every full. Open your mouth, always be busy, and life is beyond hope.

Seeing the small is called clarity; keeping flexible is called strength. Using the shinning radiance, you return again to the light and save yourself misfortune.

This is called the practice of eternal light.

A number four day suggests that is it time to work. It’s time to get up early, get those chores done. You have lots of energy today. Get going with those projects. Pay your bills. Write those letters – be organised and productive.

The Moon in Leo adds a regal flair to the day. There is a lot to do and this fiery moon has the oomph to get it done. We are heading toward a full Moon on Friday and already the tension is building.

The Full Moon is a time of release so if there is an uncomfortable tidal wave heading your way – ride it out – put on your crash helmet and keep your head low. More importantly, remember that each day is a new beginning.

Love, Peace and Harmony,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Hidden virtue

The great Tao has no expectations for me, no demands for me, no battles or wars to fight and no history to live up to.

The Way connects all living beings to their Source. It springs into existence, unconscious, perfect, free; takes on physical body; lets circumstances complete it.

Therefore all beings honour the Way and value its virtue. They have not been commanded to worship the Tao but they always do so spontaneously.

The Tao gives them life. Virtue nourishes and nurtures those, rears and shelters and protects them. The Tao produces but does not possess; the Tao gives without expecting; the Tao fosters growth without ruling. This is called hidden virtue.

Beware – the Moon is a little grumpy today. Perhaps she has a hang-over from Valentines Day? There is some good news though as we are still in Aquarius Sun phase and so a group hug but do the trick. Love one another – love your sister – your brother – everyone you come in contact with – send them love and be gracious about their presence in your world. We may be feeling the fall out from the lunar grumps but we are all here to love and be loved. Be kind to each other.

The chatty, fast-moving number three day will encourage us to zoom-zoom through the day. This quintessential number is a motivator for the mind to adapt and overcome the torrents of emotional tidal waves.

Whatever the residue from today our motto should be, “I forgive you!”

Let’s leave it at that for now – seek the hidden virtue and you will find the nugget of truth.

Love, Peace and Harmony,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

I am an immortal spiritual being

I am an immortal spiritual being having a temporary experience.

The 50th verse of the Tao Te Ching reminds us:

Between birth and death, three in ten are followers of life; three in ten are followers of death. And men just passing from birth to death also number three in ten.

Why is this so? Because they clutch at life and cling to this passing world

But there is one out of ten, they say, so sure of life that tigers and bulls keep clear. Weapons turn from him on the battlefield, rhinoceroses have no place to horn him, tigers find no place to horn him, and soldiers have no place to thrust their blades.

Why is this so? Be he dwells in the place where death cannot enter.

Realise your essence and you will witness the end without ending.

Happy Valentines everyone! Let’s make Valentines a celebration of our love all year round. We have so much to be grateful for – so many people who make our lives wonderful and magical that we should thank them every day.

I came home from work tonight and who was there to greet me? My loyal and loving dog, Jasmine and I thought to myself, who needs roses one day a year when you can have the love and devotion of one soul every day?

We all have someone who loves us unconditionally. They can be human or beast but they exist I am sure. Take time to say thank you and return the gift of love.

The Moon in Cancer offers a romantic and cosy feel to the day. It is an emotional and loving Moon with a protective wrapping. This is a family oriented Moon and she is shimmering just for you.

Cancerians know how to express their love. They are intuitive, sensitive and in tune with the cycles of the Moon. They are devoted to their families and their inner circle. I am not saying that everyone else isn’t capable of being devoted and loving it’s just that Cancerians are renowned for this sweet and sentimental ambience on Valentines Day.

Numerologically speaking it is an 11/2 day which relates to teaching and learning. The 11 is the master number and the number two aspect relates to partnerships and relationships. So snuggle up with your best friend and enjoy the energy of this splendid day.

Yesterday I went to see “Hereafter” with my Lovie Ducks (aka husband). It was a good movie. I really enjoyed the story and the acting was superb. It thought that it was an interesting genre for Mr. Eastwood (Clint that is) especially at his stage of life. I guess we all come to the place where we consider our mortality. Even so, we are spiritual beings – our existence spans eternity.

Long Live Love!

It is my choice

It is my choice to be kind tho those who are kind. It is my choice to be kind to those who are unkind, because the nature of my being is kindness, and that is all I have to give away.

The sage has no fixed mind; he is aware of the needs of others.

Those who are good he treats with goodness, those who are bad he treats with goodness because the nature of his being is good.

He is kind to be kind. He is kind to the unkind because the nature of his being is kindness.

He is faithful to be faithful; he is also faithful to the unfaithful. The sage lives in harmony with all below heaven, he sees everything as his own self; he loves everyone as his own child.

All people are drawn to hi. He behaves like a little child.

It is a lovely sunny Sunday morning. The birds are chirping; the gentle breeze is motivating my wind chimes to tinkle a lovely harmonious tune. I am feeling rested and ready for a new and brilliant day. Don’t you love days like that? I do!

I feel so connected to every aspect of my life. I am massively grateful for every lesson, person, place and experience. I allow positive experiences come to me through my open heart and mind. I feel so blessed to be me!

Today is a 10/1 day and this is the stage of the numerological cycle to end what is not working for you (aka: what is holding you back from your highest potential) and begin a new path of intent. If there is nothing holding you back from reaching your highest potential and you want to revisit a plan or goal then today is the perfect for fresh starts.

New plans and promises (to yourself and others) are supported by the celestial links between Sun and Saturn. Don’t groan and roll your eyes. Saturn is our friend, a teacher – okay yes alright he is a task master but he does keep us on track and focused. Don’t you agree? So, today is a good day to set some goals or plot the next fantastic phase in your incredibly journey.

My first goal is to get up and pain my nails in preparation for a movie date with my Sweet Man. See they don’t have to be all that big just a little life-enhancing that’s all.

Have a brilliant and Sweet Sunday. Don’t forget Valentine’s Day tomorrow. We will have a yummy romantic Cancerian Moon to set the cosmic scene. So a nice dinner, a glass of wine, romantic music for the ambience and allow Eros to do the rest.

Love, Peace and Harmony,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

The Green Back Pack – Ghan Trip

Greenie at Katherine Gorge - Bliss
Day I – Canberra to Darwin – All Class at last!

Chapter: 1

I feel extremely fortunate smoozing into my spacious nook above the crowd. Bend and stretch I have the entire locker to myself. Mmmm – fantastic!

The morning has held some unexpected and civilised pleasures. First port of call was the Silver Service Taxi glide to the airport – nice one boss! We drove in gloomy wet weather but who cares when you are doing it in style?

After an uninterrupted check in at Business Class counter (can you believe it?) we flowed through security checks and up the escalator to Qantas Club more decadence and “special” treatment -looks like this trip is first class all the way.

Mistress rang her Mum to express her love and devotion and to remind Mum that we were on holidays (it’s always important to let people know where you are, don’t you think – even if you have told them numerous time before – I’m not saying anything more – flap shut!).

Master boasted that we are travelling in a new Boeing 737-800 (whatever that means?).

Meanwhile back in the over head locker the feeling of luxury and plenty of flop-room. I feel massively spoilt and not before time too I have to admit. Back packs have the right to feel the comfort of class too!

The pink “oversized” satchel at the other end of the overhead locker is giving me some serious zipper.

“Sweetums, you may feel mighty darn special but I am here to tell you, you’re not!”

Although I do recall that trip on the way back from Vancouver when it was overcrowded cramped I capitalised on the opportunity to exploit my snuggle position to nestle up closer to a sexy little pink pouch – those were the days, My Friend – those were the days!

After a short stint in the gold class cargo hold I am out and about and sprawled along the spacious lounges in Business Class. Mistress removes her decorative notebook and exquisite blue pen to begin my account of this journey. She takes out one of her books from the, “I can do it conference!” Changes her mind and chooses document my experiences instead of reading. Good choice, Goddess!

I am captivated by my short release from cargo paradise by a fun little movie called, Toy story 3. It is a funny little story about these unique little toys who can not only talk but exhibit diverse personalities. This movie explores their challenges and the interplay between themselves while trying to deal with humans.

I feel their pain. I can’t tell you, it’s not easy sometimes but it is worth the ride. Anyway, I digress. In short, they are precious and the movie is good too. So don’t sit in judgement on my movie review skills.

High above the white duvet rolling across the centre of our great land (yes I know that I started out as an American immigrant but now I am neutralised as a true blue/green Aussie through and through). My aerial capsule holds a great deal of appeal. I am able to sprawl to my canvas’ heart content. You know it is getting kind of lonely up here? I wonder if I can get into any mischief – drat no, there is no one to terrorise or torment. I think I will sleep instead!

Darwin airport is steamy and humid – my straps attract the heat like a black hole attracts space flotsam. We took a short tour bus ride to the inner city motel and commence registration and check in.

Darwin sprawls along an expansive coastline. The water is clear and aquamarine in colour. People shuffle along in a humid-induced state of perspiration. The walking tour is interesting and exhausting all at once. We found a cool nook hiding beneath a five-storey footbridge. Mistress indulged in a coffee frappe and Master slurped down a milkshake.

Another short and scenic walk and peering into the glass walls of a couple of shops and we are back in our room. Ahh the air-conditioning is superb and Mistress flops onto the bed and begins to surfs the smorgasbord of Darwinian channels. Master has a refresh and is ready to explore a little more.

Later that night we swoon down the street to a Turkish restaurant. We are entertained by artists who sing in their own rhythmic lingo. A feast of Turkish delicacies which seem to be a strange array of food offerings is laced with music from another world. I know that Mistress was impressed with the folk belly dancing sounds but give me the Beatles any day.

Back in our room and the feasting is done. I want to flop into a deep green sleep. I am weary to my buckles and my straps are stretch beyond recognition. Good night Darwin – good nite Mistress.

Day II – On the Ghan
An early morning wake-up call and my eyelets are still heavy with sleep. Just five more minutes and I promise I will be ready to rock.

Back already? Mistress and Master have had a full breakfast. I hope she is watching her diet she has done so well with weight loss over the past four years.

We are packed, checked out and are waiting downstairs in the lobby. This meeting is way too early for my liking. Does anyone ask me how annoying it is just to sit around – boring!

Wait a minute who is that, hubba hubba a cut little red pull along catches my eye and I give her a wink!

Snob – think you are too good for me – I’ve been places lady. Anyway, where was I? Yes that’s it – we are early but here is the tour bus and we are ready to be driven to the train station.

The comfy red carpeted tour bus rolls through the outskirts of the city. We connect with the train and are ready to board – P1 – Platinum Class – woohoo.

A pink champagne greeting and OHS procedures drilled down. We are ready to rattle and hum along the tracks to Alice Springs.

The cabin is luxurious and the country-side unique. Strange looking cattle with humps on the back of their necks race the cranes to the best spot on the clover-filled paddock.

Termite mounds dot the landscape. They are strange protrusions that elicit faces of small children and wild beasts. These insect structures are built with determination and are effortless sculptures that decorate the untamed wilderness of the Australian outback.

After a quick a la carte lunch served in the luxurious dining car we head for a tour bus. We are off to Katherine Gorge – well two gorges of Katherine Gorge. I have to admit that I am getting quite excited. Now this is a real back pack adventure. Please don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining ab0out the Pilates, Tai chi or the Yoga classes but cameras, water bottles and insect repellents get my flaps standing to attention.

The bus ride was interesting and yet somewhat uneventful. We arrived in the Nitmiluk National Park. Nature lifted up her skirts and showed us what she is made of. The mountainous sandstone rock formations provide a gateway to a magical, spiritual and ancient water course. Rock carvings offer a story book of ancient myths and legends.

This is a peaceful place and the lapping of the water against the hull of the boat takes me into a deep meditation. I connect with the owners and custodians of this land and ask if we can take a moment to bask in the natural glory of this pristine and hallowed sanctuary.

As we navigate the rocks of the Katherine River I am reminded that fresh water crocodiles haul their pregnant bodies up on to small sandy crèches to excavate for the perfect birthing conditions for some serious egg laying. Gender and sex is determined by the temperature of the humidicrib. It would be so neat to see one of these prehistoric survivors in their native surroundings.

The tour of the Gorges is a magnificent treat for the soul. It’s as if we have tapped the head of Mother Earth in Darwin and now we are exploring her thoracic region. Buried deep beneath her breastbone beats a glorious heart. This organ beats in perfect harmony with the commitment and responsibility with the soul of this great land.

Returning to our deluxe transport we are greeted smiling faces offering small trays with filled with ice cold washers. In our cabin chilled glasses filled with lemon ice tea. This is the perfect replete after an exhausting and yet satisfying day.

Slumped in the corner I smile widely knowing that Mistress and her man have enjoyed another mind blowing experiencing which has nourished her soul on this alchemy.

I wonder what is next on our travel agenda. Stayed tuned peeps!

Your mate,

Greenie

True mastery can be gained

In order to enliven my experience of the Tao and live by its principles, I practice decreasing my reliance on things.

Learning consists of daily accumulating. The practice of the Tao consists of daily diminishing; decreasing and decreasing, until doing nothing. When nothing is done, nothing is left undone.

Trust mastery can be gained by letting things go their own way. It cannot be gained by interfering.

This verse and affirmation from the Tao Te Ching suggests that we need away from the concept of seeking pleasure or ownership of things. This concept is based on the premise that we are the true representation of love so what else is there? We are everything – we do not need to have “things” in our life to be fulfilled.

Ant it is true. And I can understand that concept. The only offering I will make here is that we live in a modern technology driven society and living without “things” may seem a little brutal. On the other hand excess is rather gaudy isn’t it?

The Moon in curious Gemini loves the technology combining with the push from the Aquarius (ruled by Uranus) Sun promotes technology and innovative solutions to problem solving. So where do we draw the line between having “things” and satisfying our cosmic/technological evolution?

I try to substantiate my purchases – technological or otherwise. It reeks of lobbying for something. It’s easy really “J” is for justification after all. For example: pleas in mitigation such as, “I really need to have this because, ‘xyz’ or this mobile is essential to my life because of ‘abc’. Do you know what I mean?

What I have worked hard to achieve is the boundary between necessity and excess. My life has become considered and in some respects may be even, minimalistic. I do not attract clutter even though I have the desire to feed my mind, heart and soul. Even my food choices are considered in respect of portions and impact on my body.

I think that the transition between eastern and western philosophies and lifestyles can be achieved as long as we acknowledge that we are the master of our destiny.

A number nine day climaxes with a sense of empowerment. By this stage in our numerological cycle we have faced some challenges; worked on strategies to over come them; sought a balance between work and life and explored a little self indulgence along the way.

This is not a rest stop by any means, even if you do feel exhausted. Rather a number nine day is a philanthropic invitation so it is important to give to others – share your fortune; your wisdom. Treat yourself as you best friend and spread the joy of living your truth with others.

Make this a happy day!

Completion

Without going out the door, know the world. Without looking out the window, you may see the ways of heaven.

The father one goes, the less one knows.

Therefore the sage does not venture forth and yet knows, does not look and yet names, does not strive and yet attains completion.

We are now at the end of the working week. For me it has been a good week – a constructive week. Sure there have been some challenges but I think that they encourage us to stretch and grow. Actually, that reminds me of a Romper Room song, “Bend and stretch – reach for the sky!”

Yes our growth is a little like that – bend – be flexible – stretch push yourself out of your comfort zone – reach for the sky – see your highest potential. Why not?

The Moon in Taurus is in her quarter moon phase or mid-point between the New Moon and the Full Moon. Essentially this is a check point on your statement of intention. How is it going? And what have you done? Are you still on track? Or do you need to revisit some of these plans and tweak them a little? Do you need to consider if more commitment is required perhaps – a few more action verbs in the sentence? Now is the time to take stock and evaluate your progress.

A business focus is offered with a number eight day. It’s a nice reminder that we have got one more day of work until the weekend. It’s a lovely balanced day too – so make sure you find time to enjoy the peace and harmony side of this day.

The bliss of eternity

There is no greater loss than losing my connection to the Tao; I find the bliss of eternity in my contentment.

When the world has the Way, running horses are retired to till the fields. When the world lacks the Way, warhorses are bred in the countryside.

There is no greater loss than losing the Tao, no greater curse than covetousness, no greater tragedy than discontentment; the worst of faults is wanting more – always.

Contentment alone is enough, indeed, the bliss of eternity can be found in your contentment.

This morning Venus and Pluto offer a little bliss. They are in a love-fest. The Moon in Taurus invests a little sensual and loving feel to the day. There is a lot to be grateful for with these skies. The Sun in Aquarius highlights the importance of humanity and our allegiance to one another.

The number seven day encourages us to turn inward on our search for the truth. Inner reflection and mediation are the best way to discover your true meaning to life. Sometimes the quest can take a peaceful route and other times we must tread a rocky road.

Whatever your path leads you today I hope that you find peace, love and happiness.

Of all accomplishments

The experience of inner peace is my true gauge of all accomplishments

The greatest perfection seems imperfect, and yet its use is inexhaustible. The greatest fullness seems empty, and yet its use is endless.

Great straightness seems twisted. Great intelligence seems stupid. Great eloquence seems awkward. Great truth seems false. Great discussion seems silent.

Activity conquers cold; inactivity conquers heat. Stillness and tranquillity set things in order in the universe.

This 45th verse of the Tao Te Ching sits comfortably with my soul. When I am in a state of tranquillity I feel as I’ve returned home. It is a place of calm, serenity and peacefulness – priceless!

The Moon in Taurus offers a steady and calm energy. I am calm and yet deliberate in my stride. We have gone from the dreamy Piscean Mon to the dynamic Aries Moon phase and now practicality reigns and the work must be done.

A number six day supports this astrological premise. Commitment, responsibility and attention to detail are the priorities for today.

I let go of my need for more

Which means more to you, you or your renown? Which brings more to you, you or what you own? I san what you gain is more trouble than what you lose.

Love is full of sacrifice. Wealth is the fruit of generosity.

A contented man is never disappointed. He who knows when to stop is preserved from peril only thus can you endure long.

I let go of my need for more, and live in a state of pure gratitude. Giving is replacing my demand for more.

I am deeply grateful for my life as it is right now. I feel fortunate in many ways and definitely blessed. My life has become a rolling series of wonderful events and the players are honourable and respectful. Every day I ask myself, “How come I am so lucky?”

A long time ago I met a man who was very wealthy and vivacious. He was always smiling, he was always positive. I asked him, “how come you are so lucky?” And he replied, “Julia, the harder I work, the luckier I become!” I guess it says it all really doesn’t it?

The Moon in Aries puts fuel in your tank to give you the get up and go to propel you toward your ambition. Yesterday I did a lot of work but didn’t accomplish anything in its entirety. Today, I have a list of priorities sitting in my diary and I am ready to tackle them as soon as I get into work.

The number five day is static and unpredictable. So it is important to have a plan to keep you on track.

I hope that you are able to accomplish great things – I look forward to our chat tomorrow; same time; same place.

I know the value of non-action

The softest of all things overrides the hardest of all things. That without substance enters where there is no space. Hence I know the value of non-action.

Teaching without words, performing without actions – few in the world can grasp it – that is the master’s way. Rare indeed are those who obtain the bounty of this world.

Not reacting to situations can be difficult sometimes. There have been times when all of my being wanted to engage, to “buy into” an argument or a situation. At those times I feel a steadying presence a hand or some gentle guide whispering, “let it unfold as it should, Child – the end will resolve itself in good time.” By choosing to take the peaceful path is the most serene route available.

I’m not saying that we should not defend ourselves or stand up for what we believe in. What I am saying is that we can be peaceful activists and this will lead by example to our tormentors.

The Moon in Aries today is a powerful force. I don’t see this movement as a call to arms rather I see this phase as a period of integrating our intention into action. We have all been floating through the dreamy Piscean influence recently now the fiery Aries Moon motivates us to move out of this Neptunian cocoon.

While we are up and moving we may as well set some boundaries on this number four day. So get out there will your fence posts and secure the fortress.

On the other hand with the Venus and Pluto vibe this week it may be wise to leave the door open or at least leave a key under the mat.

Have a magical Monday!

What others taught I teach

I release all attachment to all objects, status, people and situations. I gain by losing, I lose by gaining.

The Tao gave birth to one. One gave birth to two. Two gave birth to three. And three begat the 10,000 things. The 10,000 things carry yin and embrace yang; they achieve harmony by combining these forces.

People suffer at the though of being without parents, without food, or without worth. Yet this is the very way that kings and lords once described themselves. For one gains by losing, and loses by gaining.

What others taught, I teach. The violent do not die a natural death. That is my fundamental teaching.

The dream Piscean Moon offers a nice balance to the hectic week. I adore my weekends. I feel that I give so much of myself to my work that this time is precious and honoured. It is not that I don’t work on the weekend because I do. It’s just that I work in a different schedule or theme.

I don’t have a lot of plans for today instead I am considering the option of through a creative maze – stopping to smell the roses, nurturing myself with some self care and prepare myself for the hustle and bustle of the week ahead.

The number three energy of today promotes a little activity. This can play out with mental agility, physical exercise or short journeys around the neighbourhood. I am not suggesting that you race about like a crazy person because the vibes of the Piscean Moon would not support that option. What I am suggesting is a quiet stroll near a watery haven or a walk in beautiful natural surroundings. Enjoy your day – nurture your soul and the temple it resides in.

Love, Peace and Harmony,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

I am subtle, simple and uncomplicated

By following the way, I do not become complicated, extraordinary or prominent. Rather, I become subtle, simple and uncomplicated.

A great scholar hears of the Tao and begins diligent practice. A middling scholar hears the Tao and retains some and loses some. An inferior scholar hears of the Tao and roars with ridicule. Without that laugh, there would not be the Tao.

So there are constructive sayings on this: The way of illumination seems dark, going forward seems like retreat, the way seems hard, true power seems weak, true purity seems tarnished, true clarity seems obscure, the greatest art seems unsophisticated, the greatest love seems indifferent, and the greatest wisdom seems childish.

The Tao is hidden and nameless; the Tao alone nourishes and brings everything into fulfilment.

Even when I write the words serenity washes over me. I fee connected to the Tao and when I think that the world is treating me harshly I am reminded that we are all part of this swirling mass of consciousness.

Dark, heavy clouds bank over the horizon. This week has been a long lesson in ego-clashes and fractious pettiness. The golden lining in all this middle-earth teachings is that I gained some key principles for charting my next course of action or should I say, “Non-action”.

In previous school house interactions I’ve been accused of being passive and non-compliant; that maybe so. I know my inner realm intimately that when I am very angry I remain silent. This is a tactic that works for me as I don’t over-react with words I will have to retract in the future – or even worse, offer an apology.

In my view the word, “sorry” is sacrosanct and should only be spoken when your soul is open and vulnerable and the depths of your being are deeply and profoundly, “sorry”. It is not that I don’t say sorry because I do, when appropriate. I reserve the essence of sorry when I truly seek forgiveness and have no intention to breach that value again.

The Moon is in Pisces. Pisces is a magical being of deep and profound proportions. I adore the essence of Pisces and their adaptability and am mesmerised by their Neptunian dance. The exquisite movement of transformation has me spellbound. They fascinate me by evolving between the affable gold fish to the shark and then morph into the whale offering the wisdom gained from centuries of lessons.

So what can a Pisces Moon offer us on this delightful Saturday morning? She can remind us of the importance of play by engaging our imagination in some dreamy and delightful escape. Sounds inviting? Well, step this way!

On the numerological front the 11/2 master number has a more deliberate course of action. It’s not about fantasy Island instead holding the map upright is a priority.

Wherever you are today – no matter what Island you’ve landed on – take care of you and be kind to one another.

I bow to the all creating power

I bow to the all creating power from which I came and to which I am returning.

Returning is the motion of the Tao. Yielding is the way of the Tao. The 10,000 things are born of being. Being is born of nonbeing.

The Moon in Pisces offers an illusionary feel to the day. The Sun and Mars are bullying their way into the spotlight. Personally I’ve felt that this has been a demanding week. Alternatively, I have felt rewarded all the same.

Opportunities arise and present themselves, twists and turns create a maze of experiences. We can’t shy away from these avenues to undertake a cycle of personal growth instead we must face our demons to reveal our abundant well of inner strength. Growing pains are signposts of challenging yourself – experience is the stepping stone to empowerment.

Whatever has been happening this week for you it is likely to reach a grand finale with the push from the 10/1 day. This stage in the cycle has now ended and we are about to embark upon a new journey – a new chapter. Place your book mark on the next chapter and consider the script for the relevant dialogue for these upcoming experiences.

Most of all be kind and loving to one another.

Love, Peace and Harmony,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

I am a piece of the whole

I am a piece of the whole, and I act in accordance with the wholeness of the Tao.

These things from ancient times arise from one’ the sky is whole and clear. The earth is whole and firm. The spirit is whole and full. The 10,000 things are whole, and the country is upright. All these are in virtue of the wholeness.

When man interferes with the Tao, the sky becomes filthy, the earth becomes depleted, the equilibrium crumbles, creates become extinct.

Therefore, nobility is rooted in humility; loftiness is based in lowliness. This is why noble people refer to themselves as alone, lacking and unworthy.

The pieces of the chariot are useless unless they work in accordance with the whole. A man’s life brings nothing unless he lives in accordance with the whole universe. Playing one’s part in accordance with the universe is true humility.

Truly, too much honour means no honour, it’s not wise to shine like jade and resound like stone chimes.

The New Moon in Aquarius is a time to plant seeds in our 11th house of friends and associations. Networking is a good place to start and Uranian concepts are embraced (see: http://www.jestacom.biz/newsite/ezine/harlequin_s_haven.htm for more Aquarian aspects to consider.

This New Moon marks the official beginning for the New Year for Aquarians. It is also the beginning of the New Year for the Silver Hare. Happy New Year everyone!

A number nine day marks the end of a cycle and it is truly the end of the Tiger year so. Let’s celebrate this ending with some self-healing or a special excursion to our favourite Chinese Restaurant. I think it is important to acknowledge these milestones with memories.

Have a peaceful and loving New Year Aquarians and all of your fortunate networks out there in the global village.

Love, Peace and Harmony,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

I trust who I am in the world

I trust my essential nature, I let go of all polarities, and I live in the indivisible oneness of the Tao. Goodness and Godness are one, and I trust who I am, a child of God.

A truly good man is not aware of his goodness and is therefore goo. A foolish man tries to be good and is therefore not good.

The master does nothing, yet he leaves nothing undone. The ordinary man is always doing things, yet many more are left to be done.

The highest virtue is to act without a sense of self. The highest kindness is to give without condition. The highest justice is to see without preference.

When the Tao is lost, there is goodness. When goodness is lost, there is mortality. When mortality is lost, there is ritual. Ritual is the husk of true faith, the beginning of chaos.

The great master follows his own nature and not the trappings of life.

It is said:
“He stays with the fruit and not the fluff.”
“He stays with firm and not the flimsy.”
“He stays with the true and not the false.”

The 38th verse is a reminder of the uniqueness and yet the connectedness of whom we are. The Sun and Moon are in Aquarius and this alignment supports this concept. I guess an appropriate line for today would be, “Come on people smile on your brother love one another right now!”

Some people underestimate the power and influence of love – I guess as a participant of the peace movement I find it be second nature. The Pluto in Leo generation is still trying to transform the world and will continue to do so until they leave the planet. So be it!

There is a gentle patter of rain on my sunshade outside my window. This sound elicits a dreamy Neptunian ambience. I feel comfortable and cosy protected in my cocoon. I know that this morning ritual is indulgent and yet I am seduced into its ardour. The gift of self expression is a treat I give myself when I trust who I am in the world.

Love, Peace and Harmony,

Julia Ashton-Sayers
