Harlequin's Haven for August 2010

Greetings Cosmic Friends,

August 2010 promises to be a great number eight month. There are lots of cosmic forces encourage us to shed and grow and prepare for the spring time of your life.

The Sun is in Leo. Leo loves creativity and romance and the New Moon is the perfect time to send your wishes out into the cosmos with dynamic lifter coating. Our zodiac Leo friends are loyal and very generous. They love bringing joy and encouragement to us when we need it the most. They are enthusiastic about creative projects and respond extremely well to praise especially when hey have expressed their creative genius within. I want to wish a hyappy birthday to all of my wonderful Leo family members and exceptional creative friends.

Our major moon movements begin with a New Moon in Leo on August 10 at 18 degrees Leo. Leo’s links to creativity make this an artistic New Moon. Indulge decadent desires and splurge on luxury – Leo loves the high life. Mars and Venus together create a passionate energy that bodes well for partnerships and romance. Since creative energy is super charged now it’s a lovely time in which to explore expressing your artistic side. Saturn and Jupiter together create the right celestial combination to help you make your visions real. If you can incorporate both practicality and innovation – anything is possible.

The New Moon wishes to be planted range in the areas of:
• Love
• Romance
• Generosity
• Celebration and play/fun
• Dignity
• Determination
• Tempering arrogance
• Leadership
• Concentrated focus
• Following through on goals
• Strength of purpose
• Resoluteness
• Stamina

NB: The Leo solar time is a great opportunity for a little make-over – we want to look our best for the Full Moon in Pisces.

The Full Moon is August 25 at 3:40 am 2 degrees Pisces. Arguably the dreamiest Full Moon all year, this Pisces Moon cycle encourages you to explore your imagination. Fantasy trumps reality as you realise that too much work leaves your soul empty. Fill your spiritual well with mediation, energetic experiences and by trusting your intuition. Music is ideal mood elevators so don’t forget to press play on your favourite tines. Pluto and Saturn combine to make profound change to the foundations in your life possible. Power and authority clash as you reach a critical point where something has to give.

August is a number eight month which is a welcome vibration of possibility at its highest. Imagine yourself in a lift going to the top floor of every important building to receive a reward, an accolade or a promotion and you’ll understand the eight vibration.

Sphinx is our Goddess for August and she is best know for her many representations in Egyptian art and architecture – particularly the Great Sphinx of Giza – this legendary creature plays a role also in Greek mythology. The Greek Sphinx is female, with the head and breasts of a woman, the body and paws of a lion, the wings of a bird and a serpent’s tale.

The notorious Sphinx at Thebes waylaid travellers, threatening to eat them unless they answered a riddle: what walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at midday and three legs at night? The Greek hero Oedipus eventually solved the riddle. The answer is a human being, who crawls on all fours in infancy, walks upright in the prime of life, and uses a third appendage (a cane) in old age.

Mountain Lion is the totem for August. Mountain Lion represents leadership. In assuming the place of power the Mountain Lion affords, you must constantly be aware of keeping peace. However you can never make everyone happy unless you lie to yourself or others. This is human nature. Therefore the fist responsibility of leadership is to tell the truth. Know it and live it, and your example will filter down to the tiniest cub in the pride. Responsibility is no more than the ability to respond to any situation. Panic is not a part of this sacred medicine.

The two of swords is the next card in our journey through the tarot. The two of swords implies a state of tense balance where there is a refusal to face some impending situation of conflict. A more creative way of handling the situation might be to try to face what is before one, rather than attempting to preserve the status quo which will eventually be disrupted anyway.

Our special Leo crystal for August is Citrine. I know we’ve explored this one before but it is a Leonine favourite. Citrine is a powerful cleanser and regenerator. Carrying the power of the sun, this is an exceedingly beneficial stone. It is warming, energising, and highly creative. This is one of the crystals that never need cleansing. It absorbs, transmutes and dissipates, and grounds negative energy and is therefore extremely protective for the environment.

Citrine is one of the stones of abundance. This dynamic stone teachers us how to manifest and attracts wealth and prosperity, success, and all good things (see why I chose this one!). Citrine is happy, generous stone and encourages sharing what you have and yet helps you to hold on to your wealth. It has the power to impart joy to all who behold it.

Psychologically Citrine raises self esteem and self confidence, and removes destructive tendencies. It enhances individuality, improves motivation, activates creativity, and encourages self expression. All of these qualities are perfect for Leos and for all of us who share in the joy of the Leo qualities.

August promises to be a fantastic month. There will be lots of hard work but the rewards will be phenomenal. We are all entitled to have the best job/relationship/life – so open your heart and manifest to your hearts desire.

Love, Peace and Magic,

Halres

Monk/Nun

Light – selfless devotion and single-minded dedication to Spirit

Shadow – negative judgement of the physical world – excess piety

Determine whether you have a serious life pattern removing yourself from the world and personal relationships to focus on spiritual practice or work

I know I’ve shared this with you before but I will say it again –my previous life I lived in an Abbey as a Monk. I know that I starved myself to death as a rebellious act against the depravity of my people. I wanted to feel their pain – experience their struggle. I remember watching a movie called, In the Name of the Rose and immediately felt drawn into the story and felt – I’ve been there – I lived that life. This memory continues to permeate my life in the present incarnation. I guess that is the basis for my hedonistic ways – my relationship with food and how I still gravitate back to spiritual exploration.

In this life I crave for spiritual retreat and feel incredibly comforted by my hermit-like existence. If I could work from home I would – and I know I will one day. At times I have to force myself to leave home and sigh deeply when the door closes. I know that my soul connects with the meaningful chapter in the Abbey and my wind chimes are deep and remind me of the familiar sounds of my previous life.

I know that there are some aspects in this life that align to the attributes of this archetype. I can assure you that I’ve never dreamed or desired to be a nun in this life. I feel confident in saying that this archetype is not one of my priority archetypes. Although, I am aware that I bring remanets of my souls previous experience with me as I navigate the rocky outcrop of this existence.

A pinch and a punch for the first day of the month and happy birthday to horses everywhere I love those grand beasts – they are regal animals – actually there are not many animals I don’t like. Anyway, here we are in a new month – a new page and another chapter and further opportunities to get to know each other a little better.

August feels like a change-maker month – not sure why that is – it’s just the way I feel. This week there are some planetary influences which support that statement/feeling. We will share those alignments as they arrive and try and capitalise on the energy they offer to work on our lives.

The first card out this morning is Death. This card reminds us that a certain aspect of our lives or a negative thought patter or behaviour needs to end. Let it go and let the new come into your life.

The Hermit shuffles in and proposes that our health is the priority. I don’t know about you, but I’ve allowed the frustrations of the week play havoc with my health routine. I’ve worked through lunch hours instead of walking and this need to stop – right now.

The Lovers propose that there is a need to focus on relationships. Find a loving balance and keep the energy flowing. Enjoy the company of your closest mate and celebrate the sacredness of your union.

A number three day starts our busy month of August – seek your platform of communication and share your ideas with the world. You can connect to my platform at: www.jestacom.biz/newsite - see you there out our perfect meeting place.

God/Hero/Adonis

Light – benevolence and compassion – recognising the eternal force within yourself and others

Shadow – despotism and cruelty – using power to control people

Look for a lifelong sense of great power used wither selfishly or unselfishly.

Recognising the eternal force within yourself and others sounds groovy doesn’t it? Today I feel as though the force has left the building. Actually I feel tired and lazy. However since it is a number five day that laziness could swing around very soon.

After a night of rain and wind the sun is a welcomed fellow. The golden orb appears quite boldly through my bedroom window – reminding me that it is Saturday – a day off and a day to play – enjoy the ambience of the weekend. Pity I feel so lazy – didn’t I already say that?

The Moon in Aries ignites with the fie within Leo and we are snapped into action. There is just so much to do today there is not time for lolling abut.

Today is the end of July and the numerological energy offers a day of changes. Yesterday we built bridges with the number four and today we give them a good shake to see if they stand the winds of change.

The weather looks so threatening. The dark clouds swamp the skies warning us of the impending deluge.

The Sun is our first card out today – this Apollo ruled card symbolises optimism and forges its way through the darkness of the storm.

The Hanged Man is swaying in the Neptunian flood – ease your mind and remain calm – all will be achieved in perfect time.

There is no need to worry or strain your smile Temperance glides in and takes us above the chaos of our daily fears. We’ve endured – the struggle subsides and we know we deserve the good times.

I don’t think that I am a here and definitely know that I am not Adonis. However, each one of us is the pure representation of love. I believe that God resides with us all. Fore me, God is energy and God is love – isn’t that enough? What do you think?

Love, Peace and even more Love,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Midas/Miser

Light – entrepreneurial or creative ability to turn anything to gold. Delight in sharing life’s riches

Shadow – hoarding money and emotions – obsessive fear of losing your wealth

Look for a pattern of creating wealth an/or confronting how far you are willing to go to create it – also a pattern of difficulty sharing wealth

I can associate with this archetype in both attributes. I’ve not been born a wealthy woman in this life and from what I can remember I was a penniless monk so money has not been abundant in both incarnations. I do know however that my soul has experienced great wealth. Now my soul is more attuned to the philosophical doctrines that guide me toward my destiny. I see myself as wealthy as I am rich in experiences and love.

It’s a number four day - yes laying the foundation for the future. The structure and purpose of the four is always comforting for me. I find that days like these are aligned to my strong sense of purpose.

This week has been a galactic roller coaster ride hasn’t it? Even today Mercury (in Virgo) and Pluto (in Capricorn) merged uncomfortably to give us the opportunity to talk through issues that are bothering us or holding our progress back. For instance, I want to overcome the insecurity of my competence in a new job. I desire to express more confidence in my role.

The Empress supports that desire with an offer of a new phase. She acknowledges the fragility of a lack of confidence and insists that we draw on the skills and knowledge we’ve worked so long to acquire over the years. We are more capable than we realise.

The Chariot promises swift movement when we release the need to feel insecure – get on board and move forward – don’t delay – you have the goods and don’t be frightened to act accordingly.

The Star – well here is the message you are about to shine as brightly as the stars in the heavens – how alluring and how compelling.

It’s not about money is it? Money is just energy when it is all said and done. For me it is about self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement. If we are paid well for doing what we love then that is a bonus. And if the money flows then I like to share the joy around, don’t you?

Midas/Miser – you choose.

Fool

Light – fearlessly revealing emotions and helping people laugh at absurdity and hypocrisy

Shadow – using humour to wound rather than liberate – denial of your emotional truth

Consider your sense of humour in association with power, especially in a way that’s fundamental to your personal protection and survival.

Don’t you love this archetype? I do! I know that I’ve played the fool many times in my life on both sides of this archetype. I know that I’ve not deliberately intended to wound but there have been times when I’ve hidden my deep emotional truth behind the mask. What about you?

We are included to be chatting and racing around on a number three day. This is usually a fun-filled day with lots of stimulating conversation and breaking away from stodgy routines.

The Moon is in Pisces and our emotions are likely to be scattered. The Sun in Leo will ensure that our ego and confidence are pretty buoyant.

Thursday is a Jupiter ruled day – it is usually a pay day Friday which is a Venus-ruled (love and money) day. We are naturally optimistic on a Thursday as we can see the weekend on the horizon.

Our story board takes us on a journey (Oh I just heard the Harry Potter theme music – talk about a journey!). At first we enter the sacred wheel where our fortunes are revealed. The Sisters of Fate give it a spin where we’ll end up no-one knows.

The wounded healer removes the mask of composure and compassion spill out into our wounds. His presence is strung and we feel as if we belong and are comforted in the spectrum of his aura.

The Emperor summons us to the top of Mount Olympus – don’t dilly-dally and don’t delay for your trek today will take you to the summit.

The Fool archetype has appeared in many representations in our social consciousness – comedians, actors, actresses and the like have all undertaken this archetype. Their integrity resides behind the mask of illusion. Do you rely on the Fool to get you through the day – why?

Child: Wounded

Light – awakens compassion and desire to serve other wounded children – opens the learning path of forgiveness

Shadow – blames all dysfunctional relationships on childhood wounds – resists moving on through forgiveness

Look for a habit of blaming a painful childhood for all subsequent dysfunctional relationships

In numerology the master numbers represent teaching/learning phases. Today is an 11/2 day which means the lessons are likely to come thick and fast. These lessons are usually focused around partnerships/agreements and or cooperation. The important aspect to remember is that these lessons enrich our lives and encourage us to grow significantly throughout each cycle.

The Moon is in dreamy, intuitive and watery Pisces. I love this phase of the Moon – she is at her most psychic best. This placement is also highly compatible with my Sun sign and that is always a nice gift from the lunar maiden.

The Moon in Pisces is a relaxed energy – sit a while and dream – allow the world to roll on by. While you bask in this spiritual ambience you can reconnect connect with your spirituality.

If you focus on the wounded child within for instance you can reach a significant healing plateau. We can work through our scars and being to draw in the healing potential from the Universe.

Let’s work through our reading and how it will reveal how the subconscious forms symbolical relationships with the collective unconscious. More importantly we become aware of the merging of the collective unconscious and how that relates to us on an individual level.

Let me explain: our archetype for today is the wounded child – I intuitively choose three major arcana cards from the dick. These cards will tell a story of how we express our connection to the wounded child archetype.

The Moon is the first card – the Moon represents changing cycles and creativity. The wounded child escapes the pain of reality through their imagination and self expression.

The Empress represents Mother and nurturing. This is a significant sign post for the wounded child – if Mother is the abuser then the wounded child seeks out a mother archetype like a friend, family or on the other hand the mother archetype is revealed through a life long commitment to helping others.

The Hierophant is the gifted counsellor. This archetype can be represented by a relationship between student/teacher and mentor/mentoree.

Throughout our lives our soul attracts experiences and lessons that encourage us to grow – although I must admit that I have encountered many relationships that are still stuck in the shadow attribute of the wounded child.

Don Juan

Light – spotlights your positive seductive qualities

Shadow – using the power of romantic attraction for private agendas

Look for a pattern of sexual behaviour where the end justifies the means

There’s a Uranian flair in the skies today. Some might say a rocket will surely fly up our skirts or trousers insisting that it is time for change. Some people may get a gentle nudge while others will receive the whole spectacle. The message is the same – where do you need to change? I feel that this week will be about moving and shaking, don’t you?

This day offers endings and beginnings on a numerological scale. There is lots of potential for releasing the outdated and preparing for the new. Sometimes there is a scary hiatus – however overall we can always make do.

Hermes the magician is our first card today. He instructs us to utilise all of our talents and skills. Dig deep into your bag of tricks Child for you will find what is necessary to defend yourself against the dark arts. The tools that create the magic are right there on your plate.

I can’t deny it – I love this card – the Wheel of Fortune is filled with potential and possibilities – it’s the optimism that draws me in or is it the hope perched upon the rim. Whatever the lure I am poised ready for the time of my life – that is for sure!

The Chariot sweeps into our lives and picks us up – carries us off to destinations unknown – I’m impressed with the ride as I have nothing to hide.

Another symbol of change appears – if you have courage to embrace the new – Demeter brings the message of rebirth for you. Demeter the Goddess of home and family is nurturing and remains calm in the cosmic hailstorm. I am ready to receive the new – what about you?

What do you think about change? Do you cringe when you hear that word? Is it comfortable for you? Do you resist or are you able to embrace the uncertainty in all its forms and nuances. Does you confidence rise to the surface and you darn well know that once change has swept through your life you will be confident and capable of much greater accomplishments in the future?

Artist

Light – expressing a dimension of life that is just beyond the five senses – inspiring others to see life symbolically

Shadow – using talent as an excise to mistreat others – posing as a starving artist to elicit pity

Look for a continuing need to make art, or to bring art to others by supporting others.

I love this archetype. Actually, if I was wealthy enough I would live the life of the artist on a full time basis. And while I choose not to fall into the shadow attribute I look for artistic satisfaction in my daily working life.

The Moon is very intense as she breaches into fullness. The Aquarian full moon encourages shedding on some level. I am working on shedding some of my weight – how about you?

It’s a number nine day so the numbers are taunting you with more messages about release and resolution.

The subconscious storyboard reveals Zeus in a commanding role atop Mount Olympus. He is worldly and uncompromising – he reflects the images of our experiences across the mountain ranges while suggesting that the climb is exhilarating and filled with dangerous outcrops. Once we arrive at the summit the world will look very different.

Emerging from the darkest ravine Persephone claws her way to freedom – don’t forget about me – I have been tortured by my own experiences and yet I am prepared to face a new day.

The best roars and our fears explode in our faces – why does the struggle have to hurt so much? Hang in there and cling to the notion that you have the courage to face you scariest demons – you have the strength to go on and re-create the dream that is at your finger tips.

The Empress creates the magic with her sense of purpose and drive. Her passion is legendary as she endures the intensity of labour. Her appearance is symbolic and the climax of her will is spectacular.

Love, Peace and Creative Magic,

Beggar

Light – confronts empowerment at the level of physical survival – awakens the spiritual authority of humility, compassion and self-esteem

Shadow – dependence on others to the exclusion of effort (boy do I know some people in the shadow side of this archetype)

Look for a life long pattern of learning about the nature of generosity, compassion and self-esteem. I guess I must have this archetype somewhere as there are traits that seem to sit quite comfortably – what about you?

Have any of you felt like a beggar? What about a beggar on the street of love? Have you gone down that road? I sure have! Songs like, “baby please don’t go down to New Orleans I love you so, baby please don’t go, have rung in my head once or twice in my life.

Now my philosophy is if you don’t want to be with me then so be it. So, what is that? Why have I changed so dramatically? Is it maturity or is it self confidence that I will be alright if I have to face a new dawn alone?

I guess I’ve realised that it is too hard to hold on to someone who doesn’t want to be with you – if they don’t want to match your level of commitment and aren’t willing to tackle the tough stuff then why bother wasting your time. Here we go again with the Father Chronos tick tick tick – remind us that time is precious and we should not waste a second on people who do not wish to share their lives and future with us.

Actually, I am passed the desire for recognition or inclusion (learned that lesson so well) now if the fit doesn’t feel right or I am not part of the xyz crowd then I just shrug and move on or if that is feasible I pull on a mask and wear it when required. I guess these are the few traits Saturn has taught me over the past few decades of my degree of hard lessons.

It’s a number seven day and so the spiritual seven takes us on an inward journey. It’s Saturn-day so perhaps you could do a moving meditation while you are engrossed in mindless and menial tasks like housework.

The Capricorn Moon highlights the word, “tasks”. I came out of a deep sleep this morning and the first thing I thought about was the washing and other items on my weekend agenda. And so the influence of the sea goat.

Judgement suggests that a little clearing out wouldn’t hurt – Father Time leans forward with the heavy weight of his burdens. When will they learn? When will they realise that life is far too short for carrying the bull crap around in their totes? Not only is it inconvenient but it stinks too!

The angels’ herald a rebirth – shedding is therapeutic – cleansing the negative energy is productive and extremely enlivening.

Here’s my girl – Gaia – the birth of a new era means that we can allow the remanets of the past fall like autumn leaves and regenerate the earth as mulch. The cycle begins with a fresh start – isn’t that inspiring? A new era – a new and fresh phase – new pencils, pens and rubbers in our pencil case - I like starting the new era with pristine stationery to create a new pallet of beauty and wonder.

The World is rich with possibilities. The garden analogy has taken us from the seeds planted in hope to a healthy ripe crop hanging heavily on the vine ready to pick. Now the plum possibilities are ready to pick – which one will I choose and when can I take it home with me?

I am excited bi the freshness of a new day. Sure there is work to be done but there is also time to play. I am vibrant and there is time to lie. I am filled with a sense of hope and magic – what amazing experiences will I create with my magical mind?

Do I want to embrace the light or the shadow attribute of the beggar archetype? Well, the word beggar conjures up a negative vision so perhaps you’ve already guessed the answer before I say it!

Love, Peace and Magical Minds,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Avenger

Light – desire to balance the scales of justice righteousness on behalf of society and yourself

Shadow – resorting to violence in the name of a cause

Look for a lifelong patter of defending or representing causes on behalf of others

Dud-da-dah – so who do you think of when you hear the word, Avenger? Buzz Light year? Or perhaps James Bond? Or maybe Mighty Mouse? Whomever your representative they must work for you – I’m a little embarrassed to admit that Buzz does it for me – Psst don’t tell anyone!

I got up early this morning – or should I say that the dog got me up a little earlier than usual. I was groggy but still quite happy to be up in the dark of the morn. This early entrance into my day gave me an opportunity to flounce around and read some astrology – have a coffee and in a relaxed fashion – write in my journal.

I wanted to start on a positive note today – that’s how I feel about Saturn moving from Virgo to Libra – let’s all start on a positive note. Saturn has moved from my 11th house of friends and networking to my 12th house of fears and troubles – delving into the unconscious and all that spooky stuff. So it looks like we are all in for an interesting ride.

The Moon in Capricorn is all about work – work hard for your rewards and achievements. I am inclined to agree – I’ve worked really hard this week – physically, intellectually and even emotionally. At times it has been a frustrating week but the full moon this weekend will definitely lance the boil on our aggravations. I feel that there has been a lot of tension around and so many people have been uptight – it will be nice to clear the air with a lunar climax.

It’s a number six day of commitment and responsibility – sounds like more Saturnian lingo to me – yes Capricorn is about work and more work – doesn’t anyone know that it is Friday – the lead up to the weekend.

The Sun moves into groovy Leo and our fifth house of creativity and romance gets a buzz from the Sun. Spread a little sunshine on me baby – wonderful! Yes we are in Leo and it is time to tweak your appearance a strut around the stage of life looking proud and elegant – its show time.

Now let’s get this straight – the Moon (emotions) is in Capricorn which equals hard work, toil and slogging while striding to the top of the mountain. And the Sun (our identity) is in Leo – the showy, glowy sign of the zodiac – should be an interesting day – don’t you think?

So let’s see what our collective unconscious is telling us. The Hierophant seeks solace in the temple of wisdom. Well, for some of us it may be time out in the naughty chair. Anyhow, healing time is on the agenda.

Guess what, Death is next – let it go – get rid of it or say goodbye to the dark side of the moon – good riddens – see ya later baby!

The Star – ahha – twinkle – twinkle – take a bow you deserve it! Did you learn something? Did you feel the lessons surging through your compendium? Shine as brightly as the stars in the heavens – it is your time.

Dig deep and find the Avenger within – don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd and fight for what you believe in – look for the passion in your soul as you plug into hyper drive and go for gold.

Infinity and Beyond! Have a totally awesome day!

Bully

Light – highlights your tendency to intimidate others – helps you confront the inner fears that bully you

Shadow – conceals deep fears behind verbal or physical abuse

Honestly assess whether you have a lifelong pattern of bullying others to cover your own fear

Can anyone help me with this one? I am a little confused here – on the light attribute side highlights that you have a tendency to intimidate others – whereas the shadow side is all about concealment. Well, anyhow, Bully is an archetype that I deal with quite a lot. So, I had better get it!

For me, Bully is about power and control – how can I conquer you – it may be subtle or sneaky – chipping away at someone’s self esteem or it can be downright obvious – with verbal or physical stand over tactics.

I consider Saturn to be a bully – well I am sorry, I do! He pushes us into making tough decisions and now he has moved from the details oriented sign to a relationship focus. So if you feel that your relationship is under scrutiny you know why.

It’s a day of changes on the numerological front; the structures built yesterday are being tested by the force of the five.

Judgement is about letting go of the past hurts – it’s a brand new day – let go and love l into your life.

The world is abundant and rich with possibilities. You have the world at your feet – there is no denying that – all you need to do is step onto the threshold of an exciting and bountiful new era.

Death creeps into our reading this morning bringing and ending and giving us permission to say good bye to the old and outworn – out with the old and prepare for the new.

Justice and respect are the best ways to treat a bully – stand your ground and do not allow them to run rough shot over you – set your boundaries and don’t relinquish your power – it only feeds their inflated sense of self.

Bullies come in all shapes and sizes – sometimes you don’t even realise that you are being bullied until you walk away and it sinks in. If that is the case, don’t allow it to seep into your self esteem and erode your confidence – instead focus on the brilliance and love within you. As crazy as it may seem – send them love and healing. Just think how difficult it is for them being that cruel and tormented?

Love, Peace and Unconditional Healing Power,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Father

Light – talent for creating and supporting life – positive guiding light within a tribal unit

Shadow – dictatorial, control abuse of authority

Ask if you have a lifelong attachment to the role of family patriarch – however you conceive of that family.

I had a strong bond with my father – I still do. He passed away on 7 August 2008. Ironically it was the same day as the birth of one of my little grandsons. I still feel him around me – his energy is strong – uncompromising – unyielding and very comforting. In this life he was an Aries and I have always felt that his life force was aligned with Zeus – unrelenting and powerful.

Today is a number four day so laying foundations for the future are relevant. A four day offers structure and purpose – it is a good day to get things done.

Astrologically the Moon moves into Sadge – which takes us from the deep emotional pond to the grassy knoll just beyond the ridge. Sadge is about expanding (ruled by Jupiter) so the influx of ideas, dream-scapes, holidays to foreign lands and philosophical pursuits is uppermost on our mind. Just between you and me – I am day-dreaming about my next holiday already!

Venus gives our north node a smooch today – she is a flirty and positive planet – her intention is to remind us about our destiny and put a reminder sticker on our forehead on how we are tracking on our path.

The Hanged Man sighs and says, “give go with the flow, babe – don’t worry about nothing!”

Sometimes I give my Major Arcana cards an archetype and Prometheus is quite often called George Harrison. Both of them are Neptunian men who inspire us not to get caught up in the anxiety of life – when times are tough hum a few bars of, “My sweet Lord” or “Give me strength, give me hope, and give me peace on earth”.

The Lovers – well what can I say – just love someone – Sonny and Cher, “I got you Babe”?

The world is the final card – you are my world, Cilla Black – these subconscious archetypes are wrapped up beautifully with the music of our youth. This was a time of significant Cultural Revolution. These movements were based on love and peace – a lot better than guns and war, don’t you think?

Everybody get together and love one another, smile on your brother…

Love and Peace (and that’s all there is!)

Child: Nature

Light – friendships with animals’ communication with nature spirits

Shadow – tendency to abuse animals, people and the environment

Look for a lifelong pattern of relating to animals such that your psyche and spirit need these bonds for your own well-being.

I really don’t understand how anyone could live in the shadow side of this archetype. I don’t understand how anyone could abuse animals in anyway shape or form. I know that my spirit is definitely aligned to the light side of this archetype.

The Moon lingers in her sexy and passionate phase of Scorpio. This phase does not always sit well with me – you know the Moon is sitting on my Sun – ouch. The past two days have been hectic and intense but definitely okay. So how is your world going along? Nice, I hope!

The Death card always brings a feeling of something rather dark and austere to our morning reading. What is about to end, you may ask? What will I mourn? How will it impact of effect me? I am always a little wary about the appearance of this card as I am not always ready or prepared to relinquish what needs to be shed to move on.

The Tower represents our structure filled with ideals and beliefs. The Greeks intended to build a tower that would reach up to the heavens – little did they realise the higher you got the more susceptible you become to the elements. I guess it makes you realise that the higher your profile the more chance that you will come under scrutiny or attack from external forces.

The next card is one of my favs and she is the Empress. The Earth Mother is the Goddess of the spring. Well, it is definitely winter here in Australia. I asked my hubby the other day so when is spring going to arrive and he laughed. I didn’t think it was a ridiculous question. It is cold though and I am looking forward to the rebirth of nature.

I guess in some ways I am a Child of nature – I love the seasons and adore the interplay between animals and the earth. We are so blessed to be surrounded by such beauty and wonder.

Love, Peace and Natural Wonders,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Trickster

Light – transcending convention, stuffiness and predictable behaviour

Shadow – manipulating others through duplicity – taking pleasure in manipulating or upsetting others

Look for a lifetime pattern either of creating havoc or librating by transcending convention – stuffiness and predictable behaviour.

Yeah – nope – this one doesn’t work for me either. Sure I know plenty of people that this archetype would fit like a wet T-shirt. Still here we are exploring the Provocateur.

Okay the lovely balanced energy of the Libran Moon is being pushed aside by the power and intensity of the Scorpio Moon. The Sun and Moon compliment one another in a watery haven. This mutual admiration society offers a whirlpool of emotions that float us from the weekend into the working week.

The numerological theme is focused on relationships. The energy of an 11/2 day is a public/private invitation. The base metal is co-operation and partnerships – a nice congenial start to the week.

Justice rules from the intellect. She is Athena – wise, proud and discerning. She insists that we find a balance in all aspects of our lives and cut away the superfluous threads of our discontent.

Death brings the curtain down on another chapter – take a bow – you deserve it! There have been some harsh lessons infused in your steep learning curve. You made it – transformed by changing your thinking which has influenced your behaviour – well done you!

The Moon attracts the creative troupe – dancing around the flames of inspiration what you see is from your perspective – what you do with that vision or source is entirely up to you.

The world completes the cycle – the fruit is ripe on the vine and you are surrounded by a blossoming garland of opportunities. Take your pick – you have the right to choose – make sure that they are the best of the bunch and leave the withered ones behind to stew.

Our lives are in a constant cycle of seeds being planted to harvest the fruits of our labour. It is only the back drop of what we do – the toil, the grunt, the digging deep is part of ensuring that we yield a successful crop. The trickster is hidden in the gullet of the weevils – undermining our confidence and eating away at our stalks of self-esteem. We don’t need to fear them only deal with them appropriately.

The question is, how did we attract them into our field of plenty? A careful risk assessment reveals that it is easier to deal with them in the moment than to allow them to fester in the sun.

Saturn leaving Virgo this week requests that the healthiest and wisest option is the best outcome.

Vampire

Light – makes you aware that someone or something is your life force.

Shadow – depleting other people for your psychic survival – chronic complaining or co-dependency. Psychic attachment to others out of desire for approval and maintenance

Our collective consciousness is flooded with Vampire stories and imagines. The Twilight series is promoted everywhere and the young actors have been propelled to super-stardom.

For me this mania seems a very interesting response to the Vampire archetype and how it seeps into our lives. Through the path of fascination we have become attracted to the energy of the Vampire.

I’m afraid that this archetype does not hold any appeal for me. As an empowerment counsellor I reject the concept of Vampire. One of my roles is to free my clients from this co-dependant thinking/behaviour. So here is the garlic, the wooden stake and all of the talismans I could must to liberate Vampire energy from our lives.

A 10/1 day offers endings and beginnings. The Full Moon is fast approaching and quite often the intensity around this cycle forces people to end what is not working in their lives. This numerological nudge is a dignified prompt to clear out the closets.

The Moon is still in Libra so enjoy her for now as tomorrow the Moon will ramp up the intensity as she sashays into the power and the passion of Scorpio. Come on – it’s Sunday – enjoy the Venus-ruled Libran lifestyle with a little pampering and relaxation – you’re worth it!

The Wold is our first card as Venus steps out of the garland of plenty and reminds to stop in the name of self love. Stop if you are not being kind and respectful to yourself. This card is the end or the finale of the Major Arcana phases and it appears today to announce to you that the world is your oyster. So stop messing about and worrying about what is not necessary – or at least what is not worthy of your time and energy.

The Neptunian flow is ushered in by the hanged man – Prometheus. He is our Neptunian man – just hang for a while baby and allow the vibes to pick you up and carry you away to some romantic destination. Or loose yourself in some music while you soak your weary body in a scented bath and allow your mind to wander in the flickering magic of a rose coloured candle.

The Hermit has Saturn as his ruler. This Virgo-ruled card sends the message loud and clear, “Be mindful of your thoughts, words and actions because they will be taken down and used in evidence against you – at any time – you don’t know who has a recorder ready to switch on when you loose your footing.

The Sun beams his golden allure on the wintry landscape of our dreams. I had some awful nightmares last night. One included Paul McCartney (sorry Sir Paul). It wasn’t that he was awful it was the context of the dream – and no, I’m not going to share it because I am an ethical girl who is respectful of our dreamtime.

How do we know that the Vampire archetype is in our circle of influence? What can we do to protect ourselves? In some situations we can shield ourselves with white light or trusted talismans. In the past I’ve protected myself with the positive force of my angelic guardians and spiritual guides. It is up to you to decide on the force field – however, protect you must – there is no try – there is only do!

Warrior

Light – strength, skill, discipline and toughness of will. Heroism, stoicism and self-sacrifice in conquering ego

Shadow – trading ethical principles for victory at any cost. Indifference to the suffering inflicted on others

Look for a lifetime commitment to courageous battles whenever and wherever necessary.

Warrior archetype also encompasses: soldier, crime fighter, Amazon, mercenary, gunslinger, Samurai which represents physical strength and the ability to protect and fight for your rights.

The Moon is in her most diplomatic sign of Libra today. Our very own red head of State is under pressure (Libran Lady) to announce an election here in Oz. We will see if the lunar magic will coax her into formalising her current role.

The Sun is still in Cancer so our focus is on home and family issues. We are adding a sunroom to our home – building materials has been delivered – we are waiting on the construction to commence; I predict that it will happen around the full moon next week.

Hands up those who have had a tough week? Yes, me too! Well, it hasn’t been overwhelming or destructive – just frustrating. Although one positive note is that I’ve not fallen into old patterns of insecurity and self flagellation.

A number nine day of empowerment and resolution. Just as an aside nine was John Lennon’s favourite number which is interesting as nine represents humanity and philanthropic pursuits. IMAGINE that!

The Chariot represents speed into two directions simultaneously. Being in control of the route is the message here though – are you running two major projects or business propositions at once? This is an indicator that there is a choice on the horizon.

The Star is an inspiration to us. Do you dream of being a star in your own world? Or are you destined for fame and fortune? Or do you want to shine as brightly as the stars in the heavens? If you could be a star which one would you be? Would it be mortal, immortal or representative of something truly magical?

The Empress archetype resides deep within my soul. After deep and careful excavation I’ve come to realise that my soul is loving, generous, wise and resilient – the base element however is formed on warrior energy. Where does the Warrior sit with you? Or does she/he not exist at all?

Love, Peace and Warrior Wonder,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Martyr

Light – learning the transcendent nature of service to oneself or a cause

Shadow – addiction to self pity

Look for a pattern of giving yourself to causes for the betterment of others, regardless of the consequences

This archetype has really had a bad wrap over the past few years. So let’s just take this to an individual level. Say if you align with the shadow archetype as an addict to self pity, is that a racquet? What I mean is what the benefit is for you? Are you stuck in this cycle? What will happen if you continue down this road?

On the light side, is your martyr archetype engage out of love or a negative slant on passive aggressive behaviour? For example, “don’t worry, I’ll do that I’ve only been working hard all day, and…. (I think you should feel sorry for me right now).

I think that this archetype leaves us vulnerable and seduces us into a darker side of life. But that is only my perspective 

The Moon in Virgo winks at grumpy old Saturn today. Sure she is flirting but he is not having any of it. As a matter of fact he gives her the cold shoulder and asks – have you been naughty or nice? The question remains for us to decide. Have we stayed true to our convictions for a healthy lifestyle?

A number eight day asks about balance – is there a balance between work and health – I can’t answer that on the ground it may incriminate me. This week especially, I’ve been very guilty of not taking care of myself as far as rest breaks and my dedication to drinking lots of cleansing water. Plus, I’ve allowed myself to be stressed out at work – oh haa – so ante up – what have you been up to?

The Hierophant is our wise counsel. He encourages us to exorcise the wounded part of ourselves. He understands the frailties of the human soul and offers wise words of love and healing. The Hermit resides in our sixth house of work and health and suggests that it is not too late to turn your life around – right now! While the Lovers laugh and giggle and say, well, it’s Friday so let’s have some fun and not worry about the work routines.

The Martyr archetype is hard work and not fun for anyone. I don’t think that I have this one anywhere in my chart. So I guess I lack the understanding required to see the world from their perspective. Honestly, I would rather have fun.

Love, Peace and Fun Filled Happy Times,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

King

Light – enlightened, benevolent leadership – benefiting those in your charge

Shadow – excessive feelings of entitlement – rulership without restraint

Look for a life long need to rule and exert control over a kingdom – whether a corporation, community or family

The Moon is still in Virgo. This is a good thing after all of the chaos of the eclipse season. We now have the opportunity to dig into the details and sort through the deluge of emotions lying scattered on the ground.

How does impact on us? You know, if we are monitoring our emotions, if we are enlightened about the influences of the cosmic forces that are in play, then why do we get caught up in the whirlpool?

Well, I believe we get sucked into other people’s vortex or black holes. I believe that people who are not “aware” of what is happening are knocked about and may react irrationally – they may even take it out on us. And if we are an innocent bystander then how or why is that fair?

Fairness aside, the difficulty here is that we are constantly trying to rationalise why we are being dealt a difficult situation- what is the best solution and how come it has come and side-swiped me when I wasn’t looking.

My advice is, turn off the power – don’t buy into the situation; don’t match their anger/energy – instead send them love and understanding.

Another inner journeys day with the encouragement of a number seven – try and comprehend the changes that are taking place and allow them to filter through to your being. Add a filter and only allow the love and respect of others rest upon your soul. It is important to remember that we are experiencing another chapter in our soul’s evolution.

Temperance hovers elegantly out on the horizon. Rise above the madness and seek a balance especially when the craziness reigns on the landscape of disillusionment.

The Empress inspires us to take heart in the notion that new beginnings are a great place to start today.

Prometheus asks the question; what must we do now? Why worry about yesterday when the shutters have gone down and we have tomorrow to look forward to?

The King within commands leadership skills – demonstrate your loving and wise self to the world and you will be rewarded.

Love, Peace and Humanity,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

JOHN LENNON / MOTHER

Mother

Light – nurturance, patience, unconditional love – joy in giving birth (ouch)

Shadow – smothering or abandoning children, instilling guilt in child for becoming independent.

You don’t need to be a biological mother, but must have a life long devotion to nurturing and protecting the environment for supporting any life forming including giving birth to books or ideas. Some men relate to be Mr. Mom another variation of the Mother Archetype.

My Mother is Virgo and she has taught me many wonderful lessons over my life. I am eternally grateful that she is my Mum and that we’ve had a great relationship. It is more than gratifying to know that our relationship has got stronger as we’ve both matured.

I’ve often felt incredibly sad for John Lennon and his estranged and yet devoted relationship with his Mother. I guess the tragedy was that he had only reconnected with her and she was killed only minutes from his home. And when I hear his song, Mother – well I am moved to tears.

I think that Mother is a complex archetype – not all of us are a Mother in the true sense of the word and yet most of us demonstrate those nurturing qualities in aspects of our lives.

The Moon is in Virgo today and this is a nice balance with the Sun in Cancer. Cancer rules the fourth house of home and mother and the Moon is about being tidy and paying attention to details.

It is number six day – and a time to take responsibility for our actions. The eclipse season is over for better or worse and now the mop up process begins. I know I’ve been incredibly emotional over this season of eclipse. I have kept a lid on it but still the unwanted emotions have bubbled furiously inside. These emotions have been around money and the process of settling into my new job. Now, I feel I can take time to calm my thoughts and emotions – and just let it be.

The Moon, Justice and Empress are our three cards today. So what is your interpretation? The Moon – emotions; Justice = balance and Empress is Gaia, the earth mother. She coaxes us into a state of new beginnings. She is the ultimate mother. She is tough, unrelenting, generous, persistent and dedicated. She is sort of like the archetypal archetype – are we allowed to say that?

Love, Peace and Mother Wisdom – Let it Be,

Gambler

Light – willingness to follow intuition when others doubt you

Shadow – relying on luck rather than hard work

Look for the ability to follow your intuition in risky situations

It is a day of changes with Venus and Pluto playing Russian roulette. Fortunately we can win big at this cosmic table of opportunity as these two planets hold the power and the passion to make our lives turn on a sixpence (dime).

The Moon has shifted from the home and family focus to a more flamboyant phase. Yes the Moon is in Leo however the Sun still resides in Cancer. This is a not a compatible alignment as their elements equate to fire and water. Still there is an amiable breath of fresh air though.

Apollo the Sun God does not like to gamble – he insists that the stability of the twenty four hour cycle suits him just fine. Our music, good times and good food are the banquet he offers investing in the interplay between the cosmos and humanity.

Keep in mind though that Pluto’s reputation for penetrating pursuits is align with the indulgent Venus today so the playground could be a little self-indulgent. So what was your New Moon wish list?

Athena is not interested in the Ferris wheel or stupid little games people play. Instead, her focus is the cost, arrangements, profit and loss requirements of each endeavour. Sure, you can go to the playground but me mindful on how that will impact on your major resources. Think about it? Remember, Justice is about the scales so that is a scary prospect too, isn’t it?

Temperance will bring equilibrium in all our pursuits. She is across the strategic landscape and is prepared to take the odd risk. She is ruled by Sagittarius and they like little flutter or two. Conversely her ultimate aim is in the big picture – the destiny link between now and the future. Sure the devil is in the detail but her aim is to get us to the new frontier.

The gambler archetype is not present in all our charts. This archetype insists upon risk taking and accepting that you are unique. It’s not for everyone. However, to keep it in balance we must put in the hard yards.

Love, Peace and Risk Aligned with Hard work,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Mystic (Renunciation)

Light – reveals the ultimate union with the Divine

Shadow – delusional rapport with the Divine

Ask yourself if you have a lifelong devotion to exploring your relationship with the Divine. And are you ready to pay the price in blood, sweat and tears? Yes on both of those!

The New Moon solar eclipse this morning is a powerful moment to plant your seeds for your intentions for the future. It is like the Universe is offering you a blanket policy, if you want it; go for it and we will support you. This eclipse will impact on all of us in some way and shall I suggest in a positive way – so use the force, Luke and allow the positive changes sweep through your life.

It is a number four day – a day of laying foundations for the future so if you build it they will come. If you want to make it happen a number four day will support the structure to support your next phase.

The Moon offers a dreamy blanket to snuggle into – the warm cosy comfort of a familiar and trusted friend is the relevance of this card.

Justice does not require anyone’s security blanket for Athena is cool and calculating. She is filled with determination and is focused and forthright. Her temperament is unrelenting and she is no body’s fool.

Strength coaxes us into a cycle of courage – hold on and don’t be alarmed by the current circumstances – stick with the plan and it will take you where you need to go.

The Mystic is a dreamer – they are sensitive and quite often tossed around by the forces of humanity. They feel the subtleties of life and the rejection of others as painfully as a quivering baby bird waiting in the nest high above the dangers of the predators below. Our intuition is open wide as we wait for the tiny morsel of sustenance from the Universal flow.

It is a precarious life style – is it for you? Perhaps? The beauty and the glory come when you can spread your wings and fly.

Love, Peace and Mystical Drives,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Knight

Light – loyalty, romance and chivalry – a little honour

Shadow – allegiance to a destructive ruler or principle – romantic delusions

Look for a pattern of service to others that straddles the line between self sacrifice and self neglect

Today we have a more communicative influence than yesterday with a number three day. This vibrant energetic number has us racing about and connecting with others.

The Death card makes an appearance with terms and conditions. I watched the move, Water Hors last night with two of my grandsons. At the end of the movie a little boy finds an egg on the shore and I thought that scene epitomized the meaning of the death card; the end and the literal meaning of a new beginning – the egg.

Death is a Scorpio ruled card which govern the eight house of sex, death and other people’s money – it is sort of the forbidden forest or the house of the unmentionables – “let’s not talk about it out loud,” house; this card sis in the past so maybe we have already done this card to death – pardon the pun.

The Lovers symbolizes everything new and exciting. They look at each other and become immersed in each other’s ardor. Do you remember when you first fell in love? Everything seems so perfect and pristine – so brilliant and wonderful. The birds sing for you, the sun shines for you, and every song sun has a secret sub text. Well the lovers are here to remind us of the importance of being you. On the other side of that I’ve heard people say, “It’s all about me!” And while this might sound like self care statements I believe it is a conceited (or shall I say) selfish notion. There is a difference.

The Star is conceited and it is all about her – well she is Venus, Goddess of love, money, passion and beauty – couldn’t get any more self centric could we? The question here is, how do you want to shine your light in the word? What do you want the world to know about you? What is your reflection telling the world?

Have you ever waited for your Knight to rescue you? Have you ever dreamt of t perfect knight who loves you unconditionally? So, you are human then?

Love, Peace and Knights on White Steeds,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Liberator

Light – freeing yourself and others from outmoded beliefs, releasing negative thought patterns

Shadow – imposing your own tyranny over those who claim to liberate –ignoring legitimate constraints

Ask whether you have a lifelong pattern of helping to free others from injustices, adverse economic or social conditions, or simply from their misconceptions

Can I just add at this point that having a particular archetype present is neither a good nor a bad thing? We are all difference and we all align with different/unique archetypes. While we are connected to the collective unconscious we all travel in different realms.

I believe that some inherited through our astrology and some we bring wit us through past lives – others I am sure are attracted to us over connections and others develop over time – maturity or changes in our directions. Some are like magnets attracted to our passions.

I like the concept of the liberator as it helps us to motivate ourselves from the self-inflicted tyranny of negative thought patterns and spiritual sluggishness, poor nutrition, destructive relationships, or addictive behavior.

The Sun and Moon are both in Cancer today. The co-existence of these two orbs relates to homey and comfy pursuits. Creature comforts are important to all of us there’s no place like home should be our castle and a soft place to fall and reveal all – in this cozy environment there is a little danger of comfort eating so watch those sugary treats.

Our reading this morning supports the astrological messages of our Cancerian collaboration with the moon as our first ally. The Moon is sensitive, emotional and loyal. I love her appearance in our morning readings as she reminds me of our rite of passage to our creative self.

Temperance is our beacon of inspiration. She hovers high above the chaos of our fears, emotions and damaged self esteem. Rise up and see the light of inspiration the glow is lingering just beyond the range.

The Chariot (a Cancerian ruled card) motivates us to get off our backsides and get into the world around us. How do you know you can’t do it if you don’t try? How do you know you don’t like it if you don’t give it all you’ve got?

Liberate yourself from your past afflictions and the bonds of your fears. Once you have shed the shackles of oppresion you will experience the joy of living in the now. Isn’t that why we are here?

Love, Peace and Joy of Now,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Lover

Light – great passion and devotion – unbridled appreciation of someone or something

Shadow – obsessive pattern that harms others –self destructive devotion

Ask if passionate enthusiasm and or romantic love plays a dominant role in the over design of your life and self worth

Ah, yes – I guess I stand guilty as charged on this one. I love to love you baby and I love being in love with love I am passionate about love in all its purest and most respectful forms. Is it destructive? Well, I don’t think so?

The Moon in Gemini infuses a chatty start to the weekend. Plans, goals and lists are the focus as we prepare for the weekend of socializing. There are a lot of arrangements to be made – short journeys to undertake and (possibly) connecting or reconnecting with siblings and or family members.

It is a 10/1 day – endings and beginnings are the theme – life and the joy of living are in constant cycle – we trend consistently from one end of the spectrum to the other. Today is a good time to end what is no longer required and start anew with a fresh perspective. This end of the cycle is an opportunity to finally release with love especially with the New Moon solar eclipse looming.

The Sun is a glowing example of the power of fresh starts. Apollo strives for renewal with his exuberance each day. Looming magnificently on the horizon he facilitates the inspiration of a positive start to new projects and ventures.

The Magician conjures up an exciting and yet erratic destiny. He advocates that we create ht future with our desires. W are rich beyond our imagination – even though we don’t realise it – what else do we need? Laden with the power of knowledge; infused with unlimited energy and resourcefulness we are capable beings to carve out a future filled with love and hope.

The Lovers theme ripples through our cyber conversation today. This archetype has aligned with the third and final major arcana card for the day. Ironic? Perhaps? Synchronicity? Definitely!

The Lovers message is clear – love yourself and all others and you will find peace in your mind and love in your heart – is there anything more sublime?

Love, Peace and Passion,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Addict

Light – helps you recognise and confront addictive behaviour

Shadow – compromises integrity and honesty – allows an addictive pattern to have authority of your inner spirit

Look for a lifelong patter of trying to overcome the tendency to need a substance or person so intensely that you compromise relationships, finances, integrity of character by emotional and psychological well being.

The light side of this archetype is a blessing. This aspect assists in recognising addictive or even obsessive behaviour. No matter what the addiction is it is not healthy to be out of control.

Well, I guess romance is a nice addiction even so we need to be able to function effectively in the world. Therefore being an addict for your life is not really that healthy, is it?

The Moon moves into Gemini today (one of my favour phases). Always feel extremely buoyant and vivacious when the Moon visits my home state. I have such an affinity with Geminis which is a huge contrast to my deep and intense Scorponic nature. I believe it is my lunar connection that builds this light and airy bridge and is supported by the great benefactor, Jupiter pushing the tollway of my emotions along mercurial rails.

It’s a number nine day so conclusions are on offer. Rally around to tidy up the flailing remanets of outstanding issues.

In the meantime, Neptune grabs us and takes us into his seductive world of fantasy; Prometheus whispers, “Put off today what you can do tomorrow.” That trick never works!

The World waits for the adventurer within there is a bridge to cross and dragons to slay. Our world is filled with lush green meadows and ripe fruit burgeoning on the vine. Grab a tasty morsel and rest awhile – no one will even know you’re missing.

The King of Gods reminds us to snap out of the haze and get into the tasks at hand – move on – get over it – take control – ship up and be the best you can be. There will be no excuses for not living the best life possible. You get one run at it and make it a good one, alright?

Love, Peace and Opportunities,

Julia Ashton-Sayers
Goddess

(Happy birthday Lachy!)

Light – the feminine expressed through wisdom, nature, life force and sensuality

Shadow – exploitation of the female nature and form

Look for lifelong associations with the image and personality of a particular Goddess, such as Athena/Minerva (the abled bodied warrior woman and power behind the throne); Venus (beauty and sexuality); Isis or Durgu (motherhood); Oshun (East African Goddess of pleasure, love and beauty); Astarte (fertility and sexual love); Quanyin (Chinese embodiment of compassion).

I adore this archetype and not only embrace this aspect within myself but seek her out and respect her in other women. I honour the Goddess within and honour the Goddess in all of my friends and associations. I continually work with Goddess energy all the time: http://www.jestacom.biz/newsite/ezine/harlequin_s_haven.htm

It’s a number eight day of balance, harmony and business related success. The Earth and Water signs harmonise with the Taurus Moon and Cancerian Sun alignment. There is compatibility even though their elements are opposites. The Sun and Mars are also willing to “play nice” so the stage is set for a calm and peaceful interlude.

The Magician is eager to imbue a little magic into this scene. He picks up his wand and with a glint in his eye commands, abracadabra. See we all need a little psychedelic splendour in the midst of the grey mist. Make sure you connect with your magic today?

The Emperor is a fatherly figure – sure he is the patriarch of the Gods and can be unreasonable in his pursuit of autocratic deliverance. He is unrelenting and flexible. His focus is an inspiration for us to capitalise on our unique qualities and motivation to share them with the Universe.

The Moon is the soft sell reminder on the landscape of our dreams. Are we committed to the dream? Has it been banished with a shrug? You are never too old to dream – you must keep working on them daily if not, they will drift away in the misty curtain of regret.

Dreams, goals and plans for everyday living can be supported by the Goddess allegiance. Goddesses come in many forms from exotic cultures, spiritual manifestations of archaic belief systems or even your sistar who lives next door. Align your values and principles with their ideals and share the potential of living your truth with the champions who have demonstrated love, loyalty, compassion, determination, courage and integrity over many life times.

Love, Peace and Goddesses Rule,

Gossip

Light – awakens consideration for the feelings of others

Shadow – thrives on power of passing on private or secret information – betraying confidences.

Assess how many life lessons have emerged from participating in gossip that has harmed another or from rating a relationship by whether a person is willing to share secrets with you.

Yes, well, I’ve recently left a workplace where this shadow archetype has infested the walls, floors and each and every tiny little crevice. It wasn’t only evident it held the power of the people – that means, it was crucial to your survival to be a part of the gaggle. This archetype can be very damaging. I cannot express my distaste more strongly than to say I find the shadow side of this archetype to be destructive for everyone involved.

On the positive side of this archetype we have the “networker”. I have deliberately embraced this role many times – quite effectively too I might add.

It is a number seven day and the energy of this number takes us on an inner or spiritual journey. Calm and serene thoughts capture our imagination and give us the impetus to carry us toward a new horizon. This does not portend as a lazy day rather of sitting back and allowing the movement of life takes us to some far off destination without a ticket to ride. Actually, that was the ring tone I had on my phone when I worked with the “gossips” – she’s got a ticket to ride and she don’t care!

Our reading this morning aligns with the movement of the cosmos. The Hermit is cautious in his daily stride. He watches carefully as he manoeuvres the pot holes.

The Tower represents Uranus and the sudden reversals of this chaotic planet. From Pisces to Aries and now back to Pisces – no wonder we have whiplash with the perpetual motion of this raging planet. Ride with the thunder and lightning and you will be safe.

The Lovers advocate that communication is the key to a successful relationship. Speak up and layer your words with truth straight from your soul. Find a balance in all things and seek love in all people – your heart will be liberated from the bondage of fear.

The Moon moves into our earthy and pragmatic second house of Taurus. Practical reasoning will repair the damage the gossips have wreaked upon your self esteem.

The Moon rules our emotions and how we socialise. It is clear what a magical and practical role she will play in navigating the flotsam and jetsam of the carnage from our past. The rational perspective will disentangle the harmful barbs.

Consider this: the shadow gossip seeks power from the negative dialogue that infests our souls. The other side of that is they feel powerless and fearful – sad but true.

Love Peace and Magical Rhetoric,

Julia Ashton-Sayers

Guide – Guru, Sage, Crone, Wise Woman, Spiritual Master, Evangelist, Preacher

Light – represents the nature of the Divine in life and in yourself

Shadow – places financial gain and control over imparting spiritual insight.

Look for a continuing pattern of guiding others based on your own spiritual insights.

Well, what can I say? This is one of my archetypes for sure. Although, there have been times in my life when I’ve chosen not to work with this one. Sometimes we need to just get on with the business of living rather than taking this archetype to the world. And harm to none.

It is a number six day with commitment and responsibility the focus. The Moon is still in Aries so yes there will be a lot of focus. It’s also a good time to start new projects and or regimes.

This week Venus and Neptune have a lovely interplay between love and relationship. I adore it when these two smoozy planets get together – there is a lot of romance in the air plus this energy filters down to us as individuals and impacts on how we feel about ourselves. A little extra care in the preparation will pay huge dividends in the attraction stakes.

Our reading this morning has spilled over into a five card spread. Why? Because I felt that the three cards only told part of the story.

So here goes: The Devil takes us from oppression to liberation. The chains of bondage are released and yet the shackles of fear drag along behind us.

The High Priestess is free to roam after her recent trip to Hades. What did she learn from the pit of domination? She learned that her life is about to change and that change holds a bitter sweet taste. This is much better though than staring into the eyes of the horned beast while inhaling the feted breath. Cleanse your soul with crystal clear water and pure nutritious food. Allow the toxins to eliminate from your mind, body and spirit.

Death waits for no one- why is it so painful in the letting go phase? Giving up what is no longer good for us should be exhilarating and empowering – instead we tend to mope around the rim of what could have been?

Prometheus is silent and yet stoic in his demeanour. Just hang for a while – you don’t have to react to every situation – you must care for the details that will haunt you for eternity – if you allow it too!

Okay, that’s enough waiting, wishing and hoping – get on board the magic Chariot and fly past the turnstiles of regret. There is a crossroad up ahead which way will you steer the beast? It’s up to you – you hold the reigns. I know which way I’m going – woohoo – hold on tight – Infinity and Beyond!

I feel incredibly blessed to have my Guides around me – some of them have gained notoriety in this earth school and some are legends in previous visitations. I am happy to share their wisdom, stories ad insights – right here in my journal with you tonight.

Healer

Light – passion to serve others by repairing the body, mind and spirit. Ability to help transform pain into healing

Shadow – taking advantage of those who need help. Failing to care for one self

Look beyond the obvious definition of what you do professionally, to a continual pattern of trying to heal others.

Healer, heal thyself – these words are a constant stream of dialogue flooding through my consciousness. I believe that there are a myriad of healers in the Universe and we all have our individual paths. I am honoured to connect with many of you and join your desire to heal others – So Be It!

The Sun goes over the south node today. My south node is in Cancer and my north node is Capricorn. My north node is in the fifth house of creativity so embracing a healers path fits perfectly.

The south node represents where you were in a past life and the north node or dragon’s head indicates your direction for this life. I believe if you are on your true path then you feel at home in your skin.

It’s a number five day of change. The Moon is in her shake, rattle and roll phase of Aries. Aries likes to rev things up and does not care too much for lolly-gaggers. The Sun wants to lounge around reading decorating magazines and the Moon wants to put on the joggers – let’s see who wins today.

The Fool takes us from the cave to a new phase in our journey. I said to my nearest and dearest that I am sensing that my life is transforming. I feel different and more importantly I feel at peace with these changes. It is not just a new job – it’s a different perspective – and I like it – I like it a lot! So there is where the Fool enters our reading – he is optimistic about the changes that are taking place.

Judgement announces that it is time to heal the past with a warm smile and a heart filled with gratitude. Don’t be hard on yourself – you did the best you could. The greatest gift you can give yourself is time.

The High Priestess rests in the temple of wisdom. She knows she must return to the next phase of her journey. And that day is fast approaching. She lingers at the pond and watches her reflection – see you are changing. The dark grey feathers are replaced by a glistening robe of beauty.

Healers bring their gifts to the world via a myriad of unique modalities. Each day they perform tiny miracles such as a kind word, an astrological perspective, the channelling of energy, an electrifying painting or an enchanting song – how come we are so lucky to live in a world of healers?

Hedonist

Light – inspires creative energy to embrace the good things in life – celebrates the beauty in you

Shadow – pursues pleasure to the detriment of health, indulges at the expense of others

Look for a life long patter of pleasurable indulgence or either as an end in itself or as an attempt to reach transcendent status.

Oh! Dear, the attributes of this archetype blur for me – I am mindful that I do not dwell in the shadow side for too long. Fortunately, I’ve had lots of mentors who have inspired to keep my feet on the light side of the street.

I love this archetype as it focuses my self care commitment. I am continually striving toward a healthy work and life balance. From my previous past life regressions I connected with a former life as a Monk. In that life I starved myself to death as a peaceful protest again oppression. At times in this life I seem to make up for the hunger pains – get my drift?

The Moon is in Aries today. And it is a number four day. So it is a good time to lay the ground work on what needs to be done or renovated in our lives. Think about an area of your life that needs a little makeover and today is the day to get to work on this area.

The ice is melting and the rain has come to wash away the remanets of the past. The fog hangs low over the Gundaroo escarpment with white fluffiness shrouding the cold shoulders of the present. Warmth wraps salaciously around the frigid reminders of days gone by a snapshot of transcendental beauty.

The death card always brings a moment of shock then you realise that it is not a literal death instead a metaphorical semblance of transformation. This card represents the past. So the question is having you released all that is required so you can move forward on your path of destiny?

The present stirs a philosophical horizon with temperance guiding us toward a strategic landscape. Are we looking at the bigger picture? Or are we focusing on the tiny shards of glass beneath our feet?

The Magician relies upon your imagination which floods creativity with all that is possible. The necessary tools are available to you now – the locked door clicks ajar – do you take your toolbox and move toward the open door or would you rather waste another minute pondering the imponderable?

I’ve struggled with the hedonist in this life time – while this has been a constant battle between the light and the shadow attributes there is hope and desire for balance.

Acknowledging the importance of a healthy temple of wisdom is the first step on the path to liberation from your earthly shadow side.
